Israeli settlers attack, wound 3 Palestinian farmers in Nablus

Israeli occupation settlers attacked a number of Palestinian farmers in west Bank city of Nablus, wounding three of them.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, said that the Israeli occupation settlers from the nearby illegal settlement of Yitzhar attacked and assaulted several Palestinian farmers.

Daghlas identified the injured Palestinian farmers as Taysir Mahmoud Salah, 47, his wife Itaf Salah and his sister Faida Salah.

Sources said that all of the three wounded farmers were evacuated by Palestinian paramedics to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Local Palestinian sources said that the Israeli Jewish settlers from Yitzhar always steal crops, damage and burn trees and other plants, and attack places of worship in the area, in an attempt to intimidate Palestinian villagers and farmers from using their land.

In March, Israeli NGO Yesh Din revealed that Israeli authorities served indictments in only 8.2 per cent of cases of Israeli settlers committing anti-Palestinian crimes in the occupied West Bank in the past three years.

About 800,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
