Note: The climate justice movement recognizes the incoming Trump administration is a threat to progress on confronting climate change. In addition to the action below, more actions are planned. The People’s Climate movement writes:

“On the first day of the new Trump administration, we will speak truth to power to our leaders – that climate change is real, that front-line communities are under attack and that communities of color, workers, women, Muslims, and immigrants will not stand aside while our rights are taken away.

“During the first 100 hours, the People’s Climate Movement is calling for hundreds of actions around the country. In every corner of the nation, we will be in the offices, meetings rooms, and the halls of power to fight back. We will not allow climate deniers to threaten the planet.  We will not allow attacks on immigrants, communities of color, women, LGBTQ and workers to become the new normal.

“Just before the 100th day of his administration, on Saturday, April 29th, we will come together for one massive march to bring our demands to the streets of Washington, D.C. We will march for our families. We will march for our air, our water, and our land. We will march for clean energy jobs and climate justice. We will march for our communities and the people we love. And we will be louder and stronger than ever before.”

On January 9th, people in all 50 states will send a message to every US Senator: reject Donald Trump’s reckless climate denying cabinet nominees.

The Day Against Denial will fight back against some of Trump’s most dangerous cabinet picks:

– Rex Tillerson, CEO of Exxon, for Secretary of State
– Scott Pruitt for EPA Administrator
– Ex-Gov. Rick Perry for Secretary of Energy
– Rep. Ryan Zinke for Department of Interior

The climate is changing, and anyone who denies this shouldn’t be in the White House cabinet. It’s up to the Senate to stop these nominations — and up to us to show up in person to tell our Senators to fight Trump’s Climate Denial Cabinet.

That starts with rallies with all of our friends and neighbors, calling out our Senators to do the right thing and reject the nominations, and having direct conversation with the Senator’s staff to pass along the message that we, as constituents and voters, do not accept Trump’s dangerous nominations.
