A TEENAGER accused of an attack on a Melbourne basketballer at the weekend attacked five other people on the same day, police allege.

Jessica Croucher, 18, is accused of intentionally and recklessly causing injury to Bulleen Boomers player Rachel Jarry, 20, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Croucher is also accused of making threats to kill Jarry, a member of Australia’s national women’s basketball team, and robbing her of a satchel bag containing a purse, bank cards and phone.

Croucher faces 22 charges relating to alleged attacks on six people, including Jarry. The charges include intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing serious injury, making threats to kill, robbery and attempted robbery.

She did not apply for bail during a brief appearance at Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday.

Prosecutor Patrick O’Halloran told the court Jarry had bleeding and bruising to the face, and another alleged victim had x-rays to ascertain the extent of injuries.

Magistrate Luisa Bazzani remanded her to reappear for committal mention in April. Two boys, aged 16 and 17, are expected to be charged on summons over the alleged attacks, and police released a 19-year-old man pending further inquiries.
