JCPOA not violated up to this moment: Senior official

Tehran, July 13, IRNA – A senior member of Iran’s nuclear negotiating team has said that the process of implementation of the landmark nuclear deal of July 14, 2015, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was satisfactory so far and stressed that the deal was by no means violated up to this moment despite all ups and downs made on its way.

‘Despite all vicissitudes, ambiguities and problems, there has been no violation in the JCPOA untill this very moment,’ head of the experts of the nuclear negotiating team Hamid Baeedinejad told reporters at a press briefing on Wednesday.

The briefing was held on the eve of the first anniversary of signing the landmark nuclear deal between Iran and the world six major powers (The US, Britain, Russia, China and France plus Germany) in Vienna, Austria, on July 14, 2015.

Baeedinejad, also Foreign Ministry’s director general for political affairs and international security, referred to the JCPOA as ‘the most complicated international and political talks ever held in the recent decades.’

Referring to the intensive nuclear talks held by the two sides before reaching an agreement, Baeedinejad said it lasted six months that the two parties could enter the phase of implementing the JCPOA.

On July 14, 2015, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and European Foreign Policy chief Federical Mogherini jointly appeared in press conference in Vienna, Austria, and officially announced that the nuclear agreement was signed between Iran and the world six powers ending more than a decade of nuclear dispute betwee the two sides.
