The Jerusalem Chords Bridge |
(Scroll down for video) When looking for Jerusalem’s transportation headquarters, just look to the sky to find the beautiful architecturally designed cords bridge, head in its direction and you will reach center of Jerusalem.
Jaffa Street in Jerusalem has become a major passenger transportation hub. Jerusalem’s Central Bus Station has been located on Jaffa street for many years. The Jerusalem light rail is the newest addition to the transportation center.
Construction for the light rail began in 2002 and ended in 2010, when the testing phase began.
Construction also involved building the Jerusalem Chords Bridge (see video below) and various renovation projects around the city.
After repeated delays, due to archaeological findings and other issues, the train finally began to transport people at the end of 2011. The tracks are 8.6 miles long with 23 stops along the way.
