Malaysian University allocated 60 percent of research budget to talented Iranian students

Kuala Lumpur, March 14, IRNA – Deputy Vice Chancellor of UTM University in Malaysia said that 60 percent of the University’s research budget has been dedicated to the Iranian students over the past five years as they are talented and have great potentials.

UTM Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic and International Affairs, Professor Rose Alinda Alias in a meeting with scientific attaché of Iran in East Asia, Abbas Ghanbari Baghestan, on Sunday said Iranian students have always excelled foreign students of the university and that is why they have been awarded the highest research budget.

According to her, 1,411 Iranian students in UTM have received research funding and scholarships amounting to ringgit 8,450,000 or more than dlrs. Two million, during 2010-2015.
She said that the university authorities are happy and satisfied with the Iranian students because of their good academic qualifications.

UTM or University of technology Malaysia is one of the five major universities of this East Asian country in the field of engineering and information technology.

Currently, more than 800 Iranian students (30 percent of UTM graduate students) study at UTM. Since 2007, it has become one of the favorite universities of Iranian students who wish to study in Malaysia.
