Anti-corporate crusader applauds Supreme Court decision to uphold bill crafted by huge corporations

So-called anti-corporate crusader Michael Moore reacted with glee to the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Obamacare, despite the fact that the bill was written primarily by the very insurance companies Moore claims to oppose.

Appearing on MSNBC’s The Last Word With Laurence O’Donnell, Moore said the Supreme Court decision was “a great victory” and should be met with “loud cheers throughout the country,” despite the fact that the majority of Americans are against Obamacare.

Although Moore admits in the interview, “The private, run for profit insurance companies are still running the show,” he failed to acknowledge that big corporations actually wrote the foundation for the entire Obamacare bill.

As Senator Max Baucus confirmed when Obamacare was passed, the genesis of the bill was an “87-page document which became the basis, the foundation, the blueprint from which almost all health care measures in all bills on both sides of the aisle came.”

And who wrote that 87-page white paper? None other than Liz Fowler – who in the two years before the bill was passed and while she was writing the “foundation” for Obamacare, was simultaneously working as Vice President of WellPoint – one of the largest health insurance companies in America.

Baucus profusely thanked Fowler for being personally responsible for crafting Obamacare. Politico described heras a “major player” in getting the bill passed.

Despite the fact that Obamacare will dump $500 billion in new taxes on already struggling American families, Moore was not satisfied, labeling mandatory government healthcare “the first piece” of the agenda, while cautioning conservatives that the process could not be stopped because it had the momentum of “a huge locomotive.”

“You better get on the train or watch your party implode – that’s my words of advice to the Republican Party,” said the filmmaker.

Meanwhile, Congressman Ron Paul reacted to the news by promising to spearhead a movement to repeal the law.

“Today we should remember that virtually everything government does is a ‘mandate.’ The issue is not whether Congress can compel commerce by forcing you to buy insurance, or simply compel you to pay a tax if you don’t. The issue is that this compulsion implies the use of government force against those who refuse. The fundamental hallmark of a free society should be the rejection of force. In a free society, therefore, individuals could opt out of “Obamacare” without paying a government tribute,” said Paul.

  1. I don’t get this guy. He made a film detailing how bad the insurance companies rip off the people, so he then advocates forcing people to BUY health insurance. And you get fined or go to prison if you don’t comply? Jesus. The only people celebrating are the insurance companies and Big Pharma. I hope someone like We Are Change confront this idiot and point it out to him.

Because journeys start with a first step, the journey toward single-payer universal healthcare has just begun.

Incorrect: the step towards the mandate is complete. That’s all No Insurance Company Left Behind was ever meant to do. All that “free insurance” for the poor will come with limited coverage and copays and deductibles so high it can’t be used. But it sure is handy at keeping the shrinking middle class focused on the blaming the poor instead of the very rich.

Moore is a fat, ignorant, dumb fuck. Probably similar to storky here.

Probably half of americans have been priced out of adequate healthcare, so I am for single payer, I just don’t think this bill is any sort of step in that direction. There was a time when I wouldn’t have considered single payer and believed the only solution was that wages should be increased such that everyone could afford basic medical care. But wages can stagnate and costs can inexplicably skyrocket; I’ve come to the conclusion that a legal guarantee of (again, basic, not universal) healthcare for citizens is probably the best long term solution. fwiw I’m a fitness freak and haven’t been to a doctor in years.

He’s a huge billboard of bad cholesterol waiting to dumpster dive for Clinton’s McCheezy scraps.

  3. I will be writing a proposal for the “Affordable Firearms Act”.
It will include a tax refund on imaginary or even actual purchases of firearms by US citizen who filed a lawful and legitimate Federal Tax return and paid a net of at least $1000 into the system and is not on any kind of State or Federal assistance at all and is not employed by a “not for profit” or a church.
Compulsory with that will be to take classes on contemporary urban surveillance technique and avoidance and rendering these unConstitution spy devices useless or ineffective.
Also included will be intensive terrorist recognition and counterintelligence training.
Medium range marksmanship will also be included.
We’ll borrow the money from the welfare system to pay for it or we will borrow it from United Kingdom with the undertanding that if they want repayment that they can “come and take it” again.

    Wisconsin Task Force….

    out.

  4. Moore is developmentally delayed. This kind of reform is a disaster. It would have been smarter and more competitive to have required doctors to commit 10% of the medical practice to Pro Bono services for re-certification rather than to do this Keynesian scheme on the entire fucking public what TRUE PURPOSE was to permanently embed a tax on being alive, which the deadbeat scenario in THIS occult paradigm is they will fucking sack your ass if you do not comply. Pelosi, Feinstein and Reid must be having uncontrollable wet dreams with this macabre legislation!

used to be about 1/3 services rendered was pro bono, then they decided to bill the state for that stuff, got handed off to the insurance corps.. some free humanitarian medical care was in their way of police state medical fascism, has been a goal of hillary for over 20 years.

This whole thing has nothing to do with medical and everything to do with slavery.

  5. His appearance on “Team America” was probably the true Moore.

The new law creates 68 grant programs, 47 bureaucratic entities, 29 demonstration or pilot programs, 6 regulatory systems, 6 compliance standards and 2 entitlements. What could possibly go wrong with something so-well organized?

Hillary’s was a model of bureaucrat’s dream bodge — streamlined for max innefficiency.

The wife broke her ankle 3 years ago and the wheel chair rental company still gets a gov check every month.

Take note all you Entrepenuers… big money for being fat, lazy and stupid like Mikey Moore…

I’d like to see him dance with the Stars.

    What the f admin?

  6. Who is this guy? Some joo movie industry clown? I don’t even know what gives this guy the right to speak about anything. All of these guys that insert themselves into public affairs with no credentials to do so are always fat.

Furthermore, all these sick puppies that wear them glasses like this guy are all the same. Look at any government agency, they ALL have employees that wear these stupid glasses.

You always will find a dyke with short spiked hair, and these glasses, they’re at every govt agency, sometimes in large numbers. They ALL hate men too. It seems to be the style of choice among these eugenics supporters. I’ve also heard that most people that wear these ‘I am a genius, who the f***k are you’ glasses don’t even have vision problems. Weird.

  7. this is all bigger than most realize..

mid 90′s with the introduction of supermarket “loyalty cards”,
not only for shelf re-stocking, but also induvidualized relational databases, shared information.
they can know how much, what color, how stinky, and what to prescribe to treat symptoms,
5-10 years later, for the junk you buy to eat today.

hospitals want first dibs on REAL ESTATE for treatments not covered by their insurance buddies,
which ends up in the hands of state and banksters instead of your own descendants, by design.

now we have MANDATORY PARTICIPATION for government big-pharma big-medical big-insurance,
the majority of which are foreign owned corporate entities who wrote it all, for their own profits.
yes they ARE poisoning the air-food-water-medicine, slow kill mass murder is a moneymaker!

  8. Well, if Michael Moore is celebrating the passage of “Obamacare, who are we to dispute him. The only way this POS could get any dumber would be to get fatter.

  9. lets see lost job 21 months ago.no unemployment, food stamps.do i pay their tax ,or pay my x her alimony, mandatory car insurance , to boot cant be done . progressive state government-CT/FEDERAL government.change , transprancy.winners are big pharma, coporlant health insurane companies. Nullification no other way 2 go.

  10. insurance

  11. This will be the first step to single payer..Getting the profit out of health care.
