Mitsotakis on Turkey: It’s unacceptable for Greece to accept threats and challenges against our sovereignty

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a clear message to Turkey, who, a few hours after the delirium of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, referred to Turkish provocations, pointing out that it is unacceptable for a NATO ally country to question Greece’s sovereignty.

Specifically, Mitsotakis met today with the president of Slovakia, Zuzana Čaputová, who is making her first official visit to Greece.

During the meeting they had at Maximos Palace, the prime minister initially referred to the energy crisis, which, he said, requires a common response and bold European decisions to support households and businesses.

According to the Prime Minister’s office, during the meeting, the excellent level of bilateral relations, which have been strengthened in recent years, was confirmed, while issues of international, regional and European interest were discussed, with an emphasis on energy and the green transition.

Ahead of the meeting of EU energy ministers on September 9, Mitsotakis underlined the need for a common response to the energy crisis. As he pointed out, the great challenges for European unity require bold European decisions to support households and businesses.

At the same time, he informed the president of Slovakia about the infrastructure that Greece is developing in order to become a hub for importing and transferring energy to the Balkans and Europe, as well as about the transfer of “green” electricity from Africa.
