Well-wishers gathered at Mr Mandela’s Johannesburg home over the Easter
weekend, leaving piles of stones painted with messages of support.
President Jacob Zuma thanked supporters for their prayers for Mr Mandela, or “Madiba”
– his Xhosa clan name.
A statement from Mr Zuma said: “We also thank all people at home and
around the world, who continue to keep Madiba and his family in their
thoughts and to show their love and support in various ways.”
