A P-plater has been caught speeding 60km/h over the speed limit in Sydney’s northern beaches.
The 20-year-old man was travelling at about 140km/h in an 80km/h zone at Seaforth about 4pm on Thursday, police say.
Police patrolling as a part of Operation Tortoise stopped the blue Magna sedan on Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation while it was driving in a bus lane.
The man was fined for $1915 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
Extra police are on duty over the Easter period for the annual Operation Tortoise road safety campaign, during which double demerit points apply.
