Palestinian cause; two opposing approaches

Alwaght- To have a deep understanding of the Quds Day rallies, two pragmatic views must be put into consideration to make clear the people’s motives behind taking part in this politically and popularly significant event.

The first view is a realistic looking at the regional conditions and the situation the Israeli regime and the Palestinian groups are in. The second view is a realistic looking at the world Quds Day’s objectives and what is means to hold rallies in the day.

In first vision there must be an accurate overall picture of the victories and defeats in past few years concerning the Palestinian cause. Also it is necessary to avoid falling into the quagmire of crippling pessimism. Because a pragmatic and precise picture of the region’s circumstances is obtained only when there is a straight take of the events that were harmful to the anti-Israeli struggle and also those which proved beneficial to the Palestinians’ fight against Tel Aviv, all to be considered in the evaluations of the regional conditions.

Without doubt in past few years many of the events went against the benefits of the liberating struggle of the Palestinians, and in return were fully beneficial to the Israeli regime. They not only damaged the Palestinian people’s interests but also they harmed the whole region’s people. However, this doesn’t mean that nothing was harmful to the Israeli occupants’ interests and the people of the region made no gains and advances in the course of their anti-Israeli fighting.

The following analysis touches upon the two types of negative and positive events. Positive events are those which served the Palestinian cause and struggle and the negative events hurt the Palestinian struggle for freedom.

Negative events

– Deepened gaps between the Palestinian Authority majorly represented by Fatah movement and the Gaza-based Hamas movement.

– Unprecedented and frequent desecrations and attacks of the extremist Israelis on the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque on a weekly basis.

– Implementation of the temporal division plan of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque by Tel Aviv, and heightened attempts to divide it between the Muslims and the Jewry spatially.

– Increased contacts and talks of the Arab regimes, specifically Saudi Arabia and Qatar, with the Israeli regime to normalize the diplomatic ties with Tel Aviv.

– Turkey’s move to sign deal with the Israeli regime which paved the way for Ankara-Tel Aviv diplomatic rapprochement.

Positive events

– Start of Palestine’s third intifada known as Al-Aqsa intifada and spread of the anti-Israeli fighting to the whole occupied territories of 1948.

– An unprecedented anti-Israeli fighting atmosphere rises to cover all of the cities and districts of the West Bank and participation of the youths in it. The struggles are unprecedentedly coordinated and prompted through the web and the social networks.

– Launching large-scale operations in Syria aiming to destroy the Tel Aviv-linked takfiri terrorists with participation of the Russian air force.

– Firming up the Syrian political system by holding parliamentary election this year and by making sweeping battlefield triumphs in battle against the terrorists.

– Launching huge Fallujah liberation operation in Iraq against the ISIS terror group and making disappointed the pro-Tel Aviv powers which set hopes on taking advantages of ISIS’ massive presence in Iraq.

Certainly, when the two types of events are seen beside each other, the necessity of paying more attention to Palestine cause and supporting the anti-Israeli fighting becomes clear further.

The negative developments stress the point that the hopes for liberation of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Israeli occupation more than ever are on the line, and that the whole Muslim world is supposed to do the duties concerning keeping going on the optimism for Palestine liberation.

The second type of the events associated with the Palestinian cause, namely the positive events on the one hand, with consideration of the anti-terror breakthroughs in Iraq and Syria, replace disappointment with the hopes for continuation of anti-Israeli fight until liberation of Palestine, and on the other hand by depicting the courageous and vigorous anti-occupation fights of the Palestinian youths, they reveal the need for Muslim world’s backing for the Palestinian youths.

In fact, the second vision is a realistic looking at the objective of the global Quds Day and a focus on the sense and significance of rallies of this pro-Palestinian day. The closest and most expressive way concerning the case is referring to the words and notes of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and announcer of the Quds Day, especially when he mentioned the overall and strategic aspects of the Quds Day. He assumed larger and higher duties than liberation of Palestine for Quds Day.

The following sentences are part of Imam Khomeini’s words on the Quds Day and the rallies held in the day. All these words enable the people to have a realistic vision of this specific day and also increase the people’s motives to take part in the rallies.

– “The Quds Day is the joining point of the world’s Muslims and a common point of their outcry over the (acts) of the mean Zionist regime.”

– “Quds Day is decisive and significant for the Muslim world.”

– “Quds Day is the day of freedom, and the freedom of the world’s oppressed people.”

– “The unity of the world’s Muslims in the Quds Day is expressive of magnificence of Islam over the heresy and arrogance, over the superpowers and tyrants.”

– “Quds Day is the day of Islam.”

– Quds Day is the day of dignity of the Muslims.”
