Palestinian woman lost eye by Israeli bullet

Israeli occupation forces shot on Sunday night Palestinian woman in Jerusalem, causing her lose one eye, medical sources said.

Eyewitnesses said that the Palestinian woman, identified as Fatima Obeid, 52, was standing in the balcony of her house when the Israeli occupation forces shot her.

Mohamed abul-Hommos, member of the Follow-up Committee in Al-Isawiyeh Neighbourhood, where the old woman lives, said that the Israeli occupation forces raided the neighbourhood at night and opened fire at Palestinian homes arbitrarily.

Fatima’s husband, Rajab Obeid, said that the ambulance, which transferred his wife to the hospital, arrived about one hour late due to the Israeli occupation checkpoints and the illegal security measures.

“She remained all this time bleeding before her children,” he said. “Then, she was evacuated to the hospital and underwent the needed medical tests,” he added.

“After the medical examination, the doctors found that she lost her eye and suffered fracture in her skull,” he said.
