THE parents of a severely disabled woman who died at home weighing just 12kg have been arrested for murder.
The parents, both teachers, are aged 56 and 55 and were arrested by police this morning at their Brighton North home.
On March 19, the couple reported the death of their 27-year-old bedridden daughter to ambulance officers and police.
Sturt CIB detectives had been investigating the death, with reports emerging that the woman had wasted away to weigh just 12kg at the time of her death.
At the time, neighbours told The Adelaide Advertiser they did not know the woman lived at the address.
The woman is understood to have been affected by a number of disabilities, including scoliosis. She was bedridden in the home she lived in with her parents and at least one other relative.
Police will allege that the parents deliberately caused her death by neglecting to adequately feed and care for her.
They will appear in court tomorrow.
