Parma Officials Balk at Jailing Ademo for Traffic Offense; Schedule Indigent Hearing Instead

I did my best to have the system show the violence that is backed by it but the fake Judge refused – for now.

It started as most traffic courts do with far too many people packing far too nice of a room so that they could be extorted for money. When the fake judge came in he immediately started explaining the process of what was about to happen. He said that if you plead guilty or no contest he will assign you a fine that you can pay downstairs. He went on to say that if you plead not guilty than his assistant would give you a future court date and the option to sign a waiver of speedy trial form. He concluded by stating that signing this form is USUALLY a benefit to YOU because the court is here everyday but you might need to reschedule. So if you don’t sign this form you WILL have to make court on the day they choose but if you DO sign the form you can have it rescheduled without question.

This set me off and I thought I wouldn’t even make it to the podium for my own case but I held it in. The reason that this set me off is because it’s absolutely FALSE! Sure you might need to reschedule a court date and the court will grant it if they are not bound by speedy trial laws. Yet, if everyone in that room plead NOT GUILTY and DID NOT SIGN THE WAIVER the city of Parma (and the goons working there) would never be able to prosecute so many within the 90 days set forth as the standard of a speedy trial. Therefore, signing this form merely allows the city of Parma an eternity to find you guilty and take your money. Plus, you can still file for a continuance and have your case rescheduled.

If you live in Parma, OH and you have a traffic ticket I would HIGHLY suggest pleading NOT GUILTY and waiting to see if they can give you a trial within 90 days. I’d be willing to bet that the city would not be able to do this and your charge(s) would be dropped.

But that’s a matter for another day.

After this the revenue generation began as the fake judge’s assistant started calling people to the podium. I would say that about 40 people were in court with me, that 75% simply plead guilty and paid the fine of $140 on average. That means that the City of Parma took in over $3,000 in just one hour of traffic court and this doesn’t include the people who didn’t show up and just paid. Not too bad for an hour of work.

That’s not how it went down with me.

When it was my turn to be extorted I stepped up to the podium and said, “no contest.” I had thought about saying “not guilty” and pushing the 90 day speedy trial aspect but I’m not sure I’ll be in Ohio this summer so I sought to end this forced interaction as quickly as possible. The fake judge said, “I fine you $50 plus court costs. You can pay that downstairs.”

I replied, “I have no intention of paying you any money.”

“Why not?” Asked fake judge.

In summary, I stated that the act of me changing lanes didn’t harm nor endanger anyone. In fact, due to the closed lane before, and how all the cars were congested from that, my lane change – without a blinker, which is my charge – was actually a safer one than had I remained in that lane. Therefore, I feel that my action was safe and that my failure to signal is irrelevant because no one could have possibly been in a lane that was closed, so who was I signaling too? That’s when the fake judge asked me if I was able to pay the fine or not. To which I replied that, “I have no intention of answering any of your financial inquires about my finances” and that if he wants to show the violence within the system than he should lock me up.

That’s when he said he was going to order an indigency hearing for me next week to see if I could in fact pay the fine. At that time I told him again that I wouldn’t answer his questions about my finances and that my refusal to pay isn’t about money. I stated that making me show up today was troublesome enough and asked him how often he expects me to show up here under threat of force? That’s when he said he wasn’t threatening me. I asked him what happens if I don’t show up for this hearing? At first he ignored me until I asked two more times. To which he said, “Then I’ll issue a warrant for your arrest.” I said, ‘So, you’ll send men with guns to my house? Isn’t that a treat?” I added that I live two hours away and we could just save us all the time by locking me up right now. That he could charge all the taxpayers of Parma who have nothing to do with my case to get their money but it wasn’t coming from me. Of course he ignored me and I was motioned to leave the room by bailiffs but not before I got to call them all thugs. Which felt good.

[All of this was done while wearing a CopBlock.org “F=ck the Police” shirt too.]

This means that I once again have to travel to Parma, OH or men with guns will come to my home, stop my car and do whatever it takes – including murder me – to bring me in front of this fake judge for a second time. Sadly I’m going to go but only because I do not want men with guns coming to my home, stopping my car or having any reason to use excessive force on me. In addition to that I’m trying to make a point. A point that the fake judge brought up in the beginning of his circus (court). He said that ‘none of you are facing jail time today…..’ Really? Well the next time I got to court if the state deems that I CAN pay the fine then they will do exactly what the fake judge said wouldn’t happen and jail me. So already I’ve proven that they system’s only means to gain compliance is by force (which means at first ticketing, then jailing and finally – if needed – killing you if you don’t comply).

Since I don’t like going to jail for nothing I’m going to spend the entire weekend in Parma. On Saturday night I’m going to host a CopBlock the Parma Police event – see here. On Monday and Tuesday I’ll be doing traffic court outreach from 1 pm to 3 pm – at the Justice Center in Parma (5555 Powers Rd) – to notify the next round of victims that they DO NOT have to sign away their rights to a speedy trial. I fully expect the thugs that work for the city of Parma to react in some way and would encourage anyone who attends to expect police interactions. We might even get to go see Deo Odolecki who’s currently locked in their cages as I write this. Though being jailed isn’t my goal and neither is changing the way Parma Police do things. What I’m trying to do is wake people up to the abuses that are going on and to inspired them do something as well.

So if I end up in jail, I hope you pick up the torch and let the government thugs in your area have a tough go at it too. The only reason the “City of Parma” is allowed to do this is because you let them. I won’t let them anymore and I hope you won’t either!

Suggestions on how to stop overbearing government agencies:

  • Stop paying their fines. You can do this by flat our refusing and going to jail like me. Or you can do this by dragging it out in court and pleading ‘not guilty’ each time. In both of these examples you will end up either clogging up the jail or courthouse. Either way, at some point taxpayers will be upset with the new bills for jails or courthouses and that will lead to them also stopping their voluntary (but not voluntary) payments to such thugs.
  • Film the Police. Whenever you have a moment and you see a cop conducting their duties, pull out that smartphone and film them. You can get tips for filing the police by clicking here and find other CopBlock Groups by clicking here. CopBlock.org’s entire base of resources are listed here.
  • Share your experiences. Here at CopBlock.org we have a submission tab and encourage anyone to share their thoughts or interaction about police with us. Other sites do this as well and CopBlock is NOT the only police watchdog hub on the internet. Even if you don’t use us or one of the others you most certainly can put your content on your own social media outlets or the internet. The point is that if you’ve been wrong don’t just take it, share it! Tell the world what the police did to you!
