On Aug. 29, Hurricane Ida made landfall along the Gulf Coast, coming ashore in Louisiana as a Category 4 storm. Ida made landfall exactly 16 years to the day that Hurricane Katrina struck Louisiana and Mississippi, leaving more than 1,800 people dead; it did not hit as hard as Katrina but its impact was felt.
