‘Pokemon X’ and ‘Pokemon Y’ screens reveal new monster’s origin (Photos)

Several new screens have appeared for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS video games, “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.” According to a report by Now Gamer on April 18, the latest images were taken from a short video that began with a scene of Mewtwo. The legendary monster can be seen putting both hands on his chest and then transforming into what appears to be his new form under a blast of blue aura. You can check out the screens of the transformation, as well as several older shots from the portable role-playing titles in the slideshow at the top of this article.

Mewtwo was one of the original set of monsters from the first generation of video games in the series: “Pokemon Red,” “Pokemon Blue” and “Pokemon Yellow.” He will apparently get a new form in “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.”

The upcoming video games will be published by Nintendo and developed by Game Freak. “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” are expected to be made available later this year.
