Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed to spin-off socially-oriented non-profit organizations in a special group and to grant them an access to financial budgetary resources, which are allocated for social purposes.

He came up with this initiative at the forum of socially active citizens held by the Public Chamber.

“I think that it would be possible to create a special group of socially oriented NGOs by doing a special work to select them and confirm their competence and to give them an access to the financial resource, which are allocated for social goals,” Putin said.

Putin said that in 2016 the government plans to allocate 236 billion rubles ($3.7 bln) on social support of citizens.

“It is necessary to select well-established non-governmental organizations of social orientation, which are capable to solve issues the state and municipal authorities are facing now,” Putin said.
