Awake Goy Tehran, Jan 18, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that the Implementation Day of Iran deal – known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action – is an auspicious day for the entire region.
Speaking in a phone conversation with his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani, President Rouhani described Afghanistan as a ‘friendly and brotherly’ country for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iranian government and nation have always stood by the Afghan nation over the course of history and the situations following the lifting of sanctions have further paved the way for promotion of bilateral and multilateral regional ties, Rouhani said.
Expansion of relations with neighboring countries tops the agenda of Iran in the post-sanction era and Afghanistan with common grounds will be given the priority in Iran’s foreign policy, Rouhani added.
Hailing the Afghan government’s measures in fighting terrorism, Rouhani said that Iran will spare no effort to boost stability and peace in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the Afghan president congratulated the Iranian government and nation on the official implementation of Iran nuclear deal and the subsequent lifting of arbitrary sanctions on Tehran.
Noting that Afghanistan is eager to enhance relations with Iran, Ghani vowed to make every effort to put bilateral agreements into practice as soon as possible.
He said that the Afghan government is now focusing on implementing the comprehensive agreement between Tehran and Kabul.
