WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) – U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Dr. Rochelle Walensky announced Tuesday the organization’s endorsement of the Pfizer COVID-19 jab being administered to children between 5 and 11 years of age, giving the green light to injecting some 28 million children.

Walensky’s announcement follows on the heels of the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Friday decision to grant emergency use approval of the abortion-tainted mRNA shot to be given to children within the same age group.

The FDA said Friday the “vaccine’s safety was studied in approximately 3,100 children age 5 through 11 who received the vaccine and no serious side effects have been detected in the ongoing study.”

However, during the advisory committee meeting, Dr. Eric Rubin, editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, expressed the concern of many members about possible severe side effects that cannot yet be measured. He concluded, nevertheless, there was no other way forward.

“We’re never going to learn about how safe the vaccine is unless we start giving it,” he said. “That’s just the way it goes.”

The endorsement was made on the back of a recommendation from the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), despite there being multiple studies showing children to be at minimal risk from complications arising from the novel coronavirus and mounting evidence that the vaccines could be causing irreparable damage.

Dr. Ben Carson, former pediatric neurosurgeon at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and Housing and Urban Development Secretary during the Trump presidency, argued in an appearance on FOX News that for kids, the risks of the shots far outweigh the benefits.

“The mortality rate for children from COVID-19 is 0.025, which is very similar to the rate for seasonal flu,” he explained.

“Do we want to put our children at risk, when we know that the risk of the disease to them is relatively small, but we don’t know what the future risks [of the vaccine] are? Why would we do a thing like that? It makes no sense whatsoever,” Carson said during a Sunday interview with Maria Bartiromo on FOX News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Children will now be offered the Pfizer shot in doses one third of the size of that offered to adults, per the FDA’s approved protocol, with the full-scale rollout expected to start by November 8.

“Vaccines will be available at thousands of pediatric healthcare provider offices, pharmacies, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and more,” the CDC statement reads.

“This is just really exciting news,” Walensky told CBS Morning’s Gayle King regarding the authorization of the jab for children. “We have vaccine recommendations for 28 million children between the ages of 5 to 11.”

The ACIP “reviewed a lot of data,” Walensky said, considering “the risks of disease, the risks of deaths, of hospitalizations, of long COVID among children,” ultimately determining that “there were no severe events associated with the safety of this vaccine.” (Outright Lies)

The CDC boss added that testing has shown the jab to be “91 percent effective against infection” in clinical trials among children aged 5 to 11, claiming that the CDC has “done the incredible due diligence to take the time to get it right.”

The most common adverse event, she said, “is a sore arm which goes away in about a day or two.”

However, data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) shows a significantly grimmer outlook for young people who have received the COVID shots.

Following any kind of COVID shot currently available in the U.S., there are 10,956 reports of myocarditis and pericarditis (a dangerous inflammation of the heart and surrounding sac) on VAERS, a majority of which have occurred in those between 12 and 30 years of age. Eighteen-year-olds ranked the highest as a proportion of all such conditions. (Comment: Multiply 10,956 By 100 to Get a More Accurate Figure of 1,095,600.)

While cases of severe harm reported to the VAERS after taking COVID shots represent less than one percent of total doses administered in the United States, a 2010 report submitted to the US Department of Health & Human Services’ (HHS) Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) warned that VAERS caught “fewer than 1% of vaccine adverse events.” May reporting from NBC News quotes several mainstream experts acknowledging “gaps” in federal vaccine monitoring.

The CDC itself admitted finding a “likely association” between heart inflammation in adolescents and young adults after vaccination with an experimental mRNA COVID shot. Some teens have died shortly after receiving their shots.

Despite this, Walensky urged parents who are unsure or unwilling to vaccinate their children against COVID to speak with the pediatricians and pharmacists who administer the shots for counsel, describing the professionals as “trusted messengers.”
