The horn-helmeted Jan. 6 rioter known as “QAnon Shaman” was sentenced Wednesday by a federal judge to 41 months in prison.
The defendant, whose real name is Jacob Chansley, pleaded guilty in September to a single count of felony obstruction of an official proceeding.
Federal prosecutors had asked that Chansley serve 51 months followed by three years of supervised release and pay $2,000 in restitution, according to NBC News.
The prosecutors described the bare-chested Chansley, who also carried  a 6-foot spear into the Capitol Building and Senate gallery, as the “public face of the Capitol riot.”
They also said he promoted the far-right QAnon conspiracy theory.
Chansley’s lawyers said prosecutors’ sentencing recommendation was  “willfully delusional” and “shameful” and argued his  no criminal record and long-standing mental health issues
Chansley is one of more than 650 people to have been charged in the riot. Roughly 120 have pleaded guilty, mostly to misdemeanor crimes, NBC also reports.
