Quake hits Iran’s Bushehr, injures 11 people

IRNA – A 4.9-magnitude earthquake rocked two southern cities in Bushehr Province on Tuesday, damaging building and injuring at least 11 people.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the earthquake tremor occurred at 10:56:42 (local time) with its epicenter in Banak in Kangan region (latitude 27.98., longitude 51.94).

The governor of Dayyer Hamzeh Etemad said that 6 people were injured in the disaster.

It has also damaged houses in the region, according to him.

Governor of Kangan Abdul Nabi Yousefi said that at least 5 people have been injured in the quake, and it caused some damages to buildings.

Kangan and Dayyer are 200 kilometers to the south of city of the provincial capital, Bushehr.
