The first class cabin of Qantas’s A380 super-jumbos looks astonishingly like the U.S.S. Enterprise in Star Trek – although you’ll have to settle for earthly routes such as London to Sydney and Sydney to Los Angeles.

The interior, designed by Marc Newson includes LCD touch panels, leather seating, plants, sheepskin-covered full-length beds and more than 1,000 videos to choose from.

Naturally, all the beds are full length: there are just fourteen berths in the first class section of each A380

‘At first glance, this may look like the interior of the USS Enterprise, but it’s actually the first class cabin on a Qantas A380, complete with personal suites and centre socializing area,’ writes TechEBlog this week.

The central area (pictured top) is provided for flyers to stretch their legs and sit down for a drink.

Each berth even has a dresser for storing clothes – naturally, pyjamas are provided.

There are just 14 berths in the whole cabin.

Flyers are provided with noise-cancelling headphones, and the touchscreen-controlled LCD panels in every berth give access to more than 1,000 different programmes.

One of the 14 seats is mine!!!

Most people who fly first or business class are dull sad boring business men with no interest in the world other than how they can make more money or get promoted

New?

Why fly Qantas when you can fly Air France, the best airline in the world

Notice no price is mentioned? Mind you it’s a “have to ask the price can’t afford it” kind of deal.

As usual the only people who will benefit from this OTT arrangement are rich business men and Saudi princes.

These have been in service for over 3 years now, strange that DM are only just picking up on this. A shame QANTAS’s service is so dire, Emirates A380 first class is much better in any case.

I wouldn’t fly in any plane that is sponsored by the Common Market.

Unless I was exceptionally rich I’d rather ‘suffer’ in economy for a few hours spend the extra on a nicer hotel which would last longer. However if I was exceptionally rich I’d have both send champagne to all the other passengers on board too! 🙂

DM, QANTAS does not have a “u” in it. The airline’s name is an initialism for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services. Maybe learn how to use google?
