Rand Paul: “People Saying COVID Didn’t Come From A Lab Are Self-interested”

Appearing on Fox News Tuesday, Senator Rand Paul spoke about how Democrats are acting uncooperatively in the Senate investigation into the origins of COVID, and noted that anyone who still denies the lab leak theory is acting purely in self interest.

“The people of America should realize that the people saying it didn’t come from a lab are self-interested,” Paul asserted, adding that “Tony Fauci approved and gave the money to the lab in Wuhan. So by proving that, he has and shares some culpability in the origins of this virus.”

“He’s always going to deny that it came from the lab, because it comes back to his reputation for having the incredibly poor judgment to send this money to Wuhan,” Paul continued.

“The machinery of government over there is biased, and they’re never going to admit to this. But if you talk to the real scientists – and there’s dozens and dozens of eminent virologists now who have come to the conclusion this came from the lab,” the Senator further noted.

Paul also noted that Democrats are stonewalling the investigation, explaining “I have 30 letters to eight different government agencies. So far, I have no Democrats signing on to help me get any of this information.”

“I’ve approached four Democrat chairmen and most of the information is unclassified, but they refuse to give it. So this is a real problem,” Paul added.

Paul spoke about the consequences of the pandemic and the resulting lockdowns, noting “They damaged our children, particularly the least among us, those who live in poverty, those who have difficult family circumstances.”

“[Lockdowns] did not work. Everybody got COVID eventually, and it wasn’t effective in countries like Sweden that didn’t lock down Their kids, went to school every day. Not one kid died in Sweden. So this was a fallacy promoted by Tony Fauci and the establishment of government,” paul emphasised.

Paul reemphasised the comments duding another interview on Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla.

The Senator also spoke about the potential indictment of Donald Trump, noting “Nobody yet has really I think fully explained how big a problem this is going to be. This is going to divide the country like nothing has in a long time. It is going to anger a huge part of the country.”

He continued, “I’m talking about a visible, seething anger at taking a president and trying to make a fool of a former president and trying to put him up and take a mug shot of him and arrest him. I think it will divide this country like nothing has ever happened.”

“People need to remember, when Gerald Ford took the, I think, responsible position of not going after Richard Nixon, it was to let the nation heal. And this is something that I think is awful that they’re going to do,” The Senator urged.

He continued, “It’s over something that’s an alleged campaign finance violation that shouldn’t be criminal anyway and ought to be a fine if it is true. And if they if they choose to actually arrest him, you’re going you’re going to see discontent and possibly unrest in the country.”

Paul later tweeted out a call to jail the Manhattan DA, rather than Trump:
