A member of the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service has been killed in an accident in a small town 170km west of Bundaberg.
The service says the tragedy happened on Friday night about 6.30pm (AEST) at the Theodore Fire Station when the crew was responding to a call out.
The ABC has reported a 28-year old volunteer mechanic was working under a truck that was being repaired, when an officer allegedly started the truck and reversed out, accidentally crushing him.
The matter is under investigation by the the Queensland Police Service and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service Acting Commissioner Iain Mackenzie will travel to Theodore on Saturday morning.
