A senior leader of a Yemeni party affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood was killed Tuesday in a bombing that hit his car in the central province of Taiz, a source at the party said.
Sadeq Mansour, deputy secretary-general of the Congregation for Reform (Islah) party, was killed when an explosion of a roadside bomb hit his car in Masbah district in Taiz, the source told Anadolu Agency on the condition of anonymity.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Yemen has been beset by political turmoil since a popular uprising in 2011 ousted long-serving president Ali Abdullah Saleh a year later.
Shiite Houthi militants have been controlling the Yemeni capital Sanaa since late September and have moved to extend their control to other parts of Yemen ever since.
