The incident took place in the town of Jand on Wednesday when unknown gunmen attacked a bus carrying eight troopers from army headquarters in the city of Rawalpindi to their stations in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to military officials, the armed men kidnapped seven soldiers, but allowed a sweeper on the bus to go.
On December 30, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants killed 21 Pakistani paramilitary troops who had been kidnapped on December 27 in northwestern Pakistan.
In August, the Taliban kidnapped and beheaded 17 soldiers.
Thousands of Pakistanis have lost their lives in bombings and other militant attacks since the US-led war in Afghanistan began on October 7, 2001.
