Somebody Send This To Joe Rogan – A Much Needed Lesson On UFOs After His Comments On The Subject

Joe Rogan, a well known American podcaster, sports commentator, and stand up comedian continues to inspire people around the world, changing lives and attitudes every day with his unique blend of skepticism and curiosity. His journey is very much like our own here at CE, as he tasks himself with questioning and researching the world around him. He has helped the world open their minds to many concepts that don’t fit the frame, and this is one reason why we have supported his work over the years and will continue to do so. However, we should take his opinions with a grain of salt, just as we should with anyone speaking on these matters, including myself, because opinion is not fact, and a couple of years ago he made an appearance on RT news and made some comments which don’t seem to be supported by evidence. When someone with such a broad reach makes these types of comments, it can be harmful to the entire movement of UFOlogy – a field supported by plenty of sound evidence.

Here are some of his comments:

The idea was to go into these different topics . . . completely open minded and just see what’s up. The problem is you see the same thing almost everywhere. You see a lot of really muddy thinking, and that’s the real problem with a lot of these conspiracy theories and it became like super evident to me while doing the show, and it turned me into a pretty hardcore skeptic. I’m a pretty open-minded skeptic, but, most of the time whatever you’re looking at, whether it’s Big Foot, or UFOs, you’re looking at crazy people. You’re looking at nonsense, most of the time. (source)

In his defence, he did say ‘most of the time.’ Yet in the same interview, he made these remarks:

[People who advocate DMT maintain] there is another world beside the material world that we exist in, and that there is more that one way to experience this type of transcendent consciousness experience. . . . There’s a bunch of different ways to somehow or another pass this rigid dimension that we exist in, and experience something that’s close by.  (source)

He then goes on to say:

And the detractors will tell you, no, you’re just being delusional, you’re hallucinating, these experiences are not real. That may or may not be true, but my point of view has always been, whether or not you are actually going to a different dimension, and experiencing intense love and beauty and complete lack of ego, and an understanding of reality that wouldn’t be possible without that experience, whether or not it’s a hallucination or not, it is the exact same experience, so if you are actually going to another dimension and communicating with God, or whether you think you are because you’re taking this psychedelic drug, the experience is indistinguishable to you.

Joe is, or at the very least was, a detractor of the UFO phenomenon in the same way others are detractors of psychedelic drugs and experiences. In both instances of negation, quality scientific research and credible anecdotal evidence are being ignored.

Perhaps one of the best witness accounts of a UFO comes to us from over sixty schoolchildren in the town of Ruwa, Zimbabwe, who supposedly encountered several on September 16th, 1994. The children claim to have seen multiple hovering objects that resembled what we would describe as spaceships. We are talking about more than 60 children, all seeing the same thing, with extremely consistent stories and pictures. Even today, many of them speak of what happened and are actively raising awareness about the phenomenon.

Dr. John Mack, a psychiatry professor at Harvard Medical School, writes that they “describe these events like a person talks about something that has happened to them. I can tell that these are people of sound mind telling me something.” I have a difficult time believing all sixty of these children are fabricating this story, or have been somehow duped into sharing it. And what if, out of the hundreds of thousands of people who have witnessed a UFO or an alien being, just one of them is telling the truth?

To instantly label supposed experiences as crazy, is irresponsible. The fact is, some people might actually be having contact, whether friendly, or forced.

You can read more about this specific case in more detail and see the interviews with the children and then later with adults  HERE.

UFOs

UFOs are constantly tracked on military radar. They are often seen by pilots while being simultaneously tracked on airborne and ground radar. If one thing is clear, it’s that the UFO issue is global, and has included thousands of well-documented military reports. One classic case comes from Iran, where two F-4 interceptor pilots reported physically seeing an object; it was also tracked on their airborne radar. Both planes experienced their critical instrumentation and electronics going offline at a distance of twenty-five miles from the object.  You can view the defence intelligence agency document HERE.

Another great example comes from Canadian Air Force pilots who were flying in a formation of four F86 Sabre jet aircraft. One of the pilots described the phenomenon as a “bright light which was sharply defined as disk-shaped,” and which looked like “a shiny silver dollar sitting horizontal.” In this case, the pilots actually managed to photograph the object.

Peter Andrew Sturrock, a British Scientist and an Emeritus Professor of Applied Physics at Stanford University, references the declassified information released from the Canadian Air Force in his publication titled “Physical Evidence Related To UFO Reports.” I’m sure many are surprised learn that physical evidence associated with UFO encounters exists, but it’s true, and one common theme among thousands of these encounters is the loss of critical instrumentation and electronics.

Dr. Jacques Vallee, notable for co-developing the first computerized mapping of Mars for NASA and for his work at SRI International on the network information center for ARPANET, a precursor to the modern Internet, also published a paper in the Journal of Scientific Exploration which does into the topic. It was titled “Estimates of Optical Power Output in Six Cases Of Unexplained Aerial Objects With Defined Luminosity Characteristics,” and you can read more about this specific encounter and see the picture HERE. (source)(source)

These are just two examples out of thousands of documented cases, all of which make clear that the reality of Unidentified Flying Objects has already been confirmed. And complementing all of the thousands of pages of documentation that have been released are statements from high ranking military and political personnel, supported by numerous scientists around the world.

“Everything is in a process of investigation both in the United States and in Spain, as well as the rest of the world. The nations of the world are currently working together in the investigation of the UFO phenomenon. There is an international exchange of data.” – General Carlos Castro Cavero (1979). From UFOs and the National Security State, Volume 2, written by Richard Dolan.

Here is another article detailing more of the physical evidence associated with UFO craft sightings.

“I’m skeptical about many things, including the notion that government always knows best, and that the people can’t be trusted with the truth. The time to pull the curtain back on this subject is long overdue. We have statements from the most credible sources – those in a position to know – about a fascinating phenomenon, the nature of which is yet to be determined.” – (taken from Leslie Kean’s 2010 New York Times bestseller, UFOs: Generals, Pilots, And Government Officials Go On The Record, in which Podesta wrote the forward)

It’s important to consider that Podesta currently heads Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. I would also like to mention that, when the government does officially acknowledge the existence of extraterrestrials, if they exist, as they have with UFOs, it will most likely involve information you do not want to hear. Governments and mainstream corporate media have been lying to us for decades, and they manipulate information to create a narrative which serves political and/or corporate agendas rather than the truth. A great example is ‘the war on terrorism.’

It’s also important to mention the black budget. We are talking about Special Access Programs (SAP). From these we have unacknowledged and waived SAPs. These programs do not exist publicly, but they do indeed exist. They are better known as ‘deep black programs.’ A 1997 US Senate report described them as “so sensitive that they are exempt from standard reporting requirements to the Congress.” (0)

The fact that a number of governments have released files that have been kept classified for decades, shows us that these programs lie within these special access programs. There for, all of the materials, science, and investigations into these matters are highly classified. The US government alone classifies almost half a billion pages of documents every single year. For a researcher to understand the history (in all fields) of their country, how are they supposed to do this when everything remains a secret?

Here is a great example of a document, it doesn’t say much, other than illustrate that this matter was taken very seriously. It took more than 50 decades to release this, which begs the question, what do they know today after all of their investigations?

Extraterrestrials

On what basis do researchers come to believe that at least some, if not all, of these UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin? There are many reasons, and it’s far from crazy to contemplate this theory; many great minds have done so. Herman Oberth, one of the founding fathers of rocketry and astronautics, is one of them:

It is my thesis that flying saucers are real and that they are space ships from another solar system. I think that they possibly are manned by intelligent observers who are members of a race that may have been investigating our Earth for centuries. (source)

So many academics in relevant fields have made shocking statements, it’s difficult to pick between them. Dr. John Mack, for example, quoted earlier in relation to the incident involving sixty schoolchildren, has related his certainty that UFOs are real:

Yes, it’s both. It’s both literally, physically happening to a degree; and it’s also some kind of psychological, spiritual experience occurring and originating perhaps in another dimension. And so the phenomenon stretches us, or it asks us to stretch to open to realities that are not simply the literal physical world, but to extend to the possibility that there are other unseen realities from which our consciousness, our, if you will, learning processes over the past several hundred years have closed us off. (source)

This list goes on, and the the number of statements from people with extremely credible backgrounds can be overwhelming.

None of these accounts alone can prove that UFOs are extraterrestrial, but when taken together, make it difficult to not at least consider the possibility. These objects perform extraordinary maneuvers that defy our known laws of physics, and we can’t just ignore that, and at the very least, this topic should definitely be way out of the ‘crazy’ realm by now.

Why do people like this believe in their existence? Not because they are crazy, clearly, they’re not. They believe so based on the evidence that they’ve examined, evidence like the tidbit I have provided above.

Who Joe Rogan Should Have On His Show If He Wants To Have A Real Serious Discussion About UFOs

A couple of years ago Rogan interviewed Dr. Steven Greer, the founder of The Disclosure Project — a project which brought hundreds of credible military witnesses (with verified backgrounds) in front of national television to testify to the existence of UFOs, and, in some cases, extraterrestrials as well. He has done some great work which deserves recognition to be sure, but has also made some concerning comments which we need to address. He claims, for example, to have had meetings and confrontations with some very high level people, and tells of having met with a CIA director and Navy Admiral to discuss UFOs. This meeting was verified by Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell, who says he himself was also in attendance, but this appears to be the only such meeting that can be verified. Without proof, stories like these can do a disservice to people who know little about UFOs and who don’t have the knowledge to separate fact from fiction.

A better person to have on the show, in my opinion, would be Richard Dolan, a prominent academic and author, and arguably the world’s leading researcher on this subject. His knowledge in this area is vast, and I believe he could present this kind of information to people in a credible way.

Here is a great speech he gave at the Citizens Hearing on Disclosure a few years ago:

Understanding Joe Rogan’s Perspective

In 2014, Rogan also interviewed NASA astronaut Chris Hadfield, making the following remarks:

I think it’s just like people that want people to convert to Islam. They just have this idea in their head that this is the truth and they have to pursue it. It’s just like a religion. I think that the religion of belief, the intensity of ideology . . . [involves] a weird clan thing that human beings have, and the people that believe in aliens, they all stick together, they go and they have conferences, and it becomes a part of their culture, and there’s this thing that happens, this confirmation bias, where they don’t want to look at anything outside of something that confirms their idea. They don’t want to look at it objectively. (source)

He again appears to be admonishing people who believe in extraterrestrials, and I feel it’s important to underscore that, for many of us interested in this field, the objective is not to convert people or make them believe, but rather to make the information available and let people come to their own conclusions. Of course conferences have been held, as they would be with any important issue.

I have also seen little evidence of confirmation bias; most of these people are willing to look at any information, whether it supports or negates their own beliefs. And so I must ask you, Joe, why do you make such harsh comments about UFOs and those who choose to study it? What evidence which refutes our position are you referring to? It would be great if you could speak more on this issue so we can better understand your perspective. Many astronauts, including Chris Hadfield, do not believe that we are being visited, but at least he said ‘to each his own’ rather than ridiculing the subject. Again, we are open to information that goes against our beliefs, it’s just hard to find information that counters the evidence on the other side, but we are open to it.

It’s true, it’s not like anybody can go examine an extraterrestrial body and craft for themselves. Very understandable.

That being said, it seems for every astronaut who does not believe, there is one more who does. Some even claim to know for a fact that we have been visited. Gordon Cooper, Edgar Mitchell, Brian O’Leary, Story Musgrave, and many more are all great examples.

This is a difficult notion to accept, I admit, but the evidence is quite compelling, and most people who are raising awareness about the information that has surfaced over the past few years are simply presenting information; not trying to convince people, but rather to draw their attention to something which does not get the consideration or coverage in the mainstream that it deserves.

Again, these people believe in the existence based on evidence, I guess it just depends on your definition of evidence.

“I must say that if your listeners could see for themselves the mass of reports coming in from airborne gendarmerie, and from the gendarmerie charged with the job of conducting investigations, all of which reports are being forwarded by us to the CNES (National Center for Space Studies), then they would see that it is all pretty disturbing.” – Former French Minister of Defense, Robert Galley (Dolan, Richard. UFOs For the 21st Century Mind: New York: Richard Dolan Press, 2014)

I really would welcome seeing information which debunks all of the credible evidence that’s emerged for the existence of UFOs, but thus far Joe Rogan has yet to present any. Hopefully this article gets his attention and inspires him to have someone on the show who knows enough for proper discourse to happen. Joe’s passion for and belief in psychedelics could be rejected just as easily as he rejects UFOlogy, and he needs to recognize that. Something to think about..

Behind the scenes, high ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense.” – former head of the CIA, Roscoe Hillenkoetter, 1960 (source)

Again, just to re-iterate, we are big fans of yours here at Collective-Evolution :) Who knows, maybe you will even come across this article, which would be pretty cool. We are listeners of your podcasts, and enjoy them very much. Thanks for doing what you do, and I hope this article helps you to see why those who claim to have experiences, and those who believe in this subject, are far from crazy.
