(NaturalNews) If you’ve not been impressed by the taste of superfood powders that you mix with milk or water to make a nutrient-dense beverage, you need to know about X-Balance from SGN Nutrition. Of all the superfoods I’ve tasted and reviewed over the years, this one offers the most inviting taste of them all. It’s a chocolate superfood powder that’s so tasty, kids will drink it and actually think it’s chocolate milk.
And yet, it’s made entirely without refined sugars or artificial ingredients of any kind. The taste actually comes from an expertly-blended combination of carrot juice, strawberry juice, orange juice, fig powder and stevia combined with natural French vanilla flavoring. It tastes so sweet and sugary that you’d swear you’re eating table sugar… but you’re not!
At the same time it tastes so great, X-Balance is delivering an astounding combination of powerhouse nutrients like moringa leaf, organic barley grass juice, organic beet juice, spirulina, chlorella, blackberry juice, blueberry powder, turmeric, ginger and even a touch of green tea. It also has dulse seaweed, burdock, dandelion and probiotic cultures!
We’ve got X-Balance available right now at the Natural News Store. (Click here.)
What’s great about X-Balance is that it’s an amazingly delicious superfood for kids and adults alike. It’s also remarkably affordable: It’s about half the price of other nutrient-dense superfoods of the same size.
The trade-off, however, is that X-Balance is not certified organic. Yes, it’s 100% gluten-free and vegetarian. It’s also 100% non-GMO. And while it contains many organic ingredients such as organic barley grass, organic beet juice powder and so on, the bulk of the product is not certified organic.
Why is that? There are three reasons.
First, many of the ingredients — such as moringa leaf powder — are almost never grown with pesticides in the first place. Moringa is an amazing tree, and I’m one of the few people in North America who actually grows moringa trees (I have two growing right outside my window). Moringa trees do not need pesticides or herbicides because they’re simply not a target of insects. Thus, the idea of certifying moringa as pesticide-free is kind of silly to begin with. Nobody that I know of sprays chemicals on moringa to begin with.
The second reason is because a lot of the powdered fruits used in the formula are simply not available as soluble juice powders in an organic format. I know this first-hand because I’ve been sourcing a lot of these raw materials myself. Solubility is key to producing a powder that mixes well with milk or water. “Juice powders” are spray-dried juices which are turned into a highly soluble powder. It is virtually impossible to find organic juice powders for many types of juices. Instead, the organics tend to be more “freeze dried” powders, which are both very expensive (double the price) and also non-soluble in liquids. Thus, they don’t even work well as a superfood drink mix.
The third reason is that non-organic juice powders are very, very affordable. They’re about half the cost of freeze-dried powders, making the final product about half the price of a 100% certified organic superfood. It’s a trade-off, of course: Fewer organics means lower cost. And for some people, that’s the only way they can ever afford superfoods. Not everybody, in other words, can pay $60 for a jar of super-duper USDA organic superfood.
X-Balance is less than half that price (see our store page for the price). And when you buy 3 canisters from the Natural News Store, the price drops even more.
By the way, we just received a fresh batch of X-Balance that was manufactured specifically for the Natural News Store. So this is freshly-made and has a shelf life of two years (more if you refrigerate it).
• Amazing taste, much like chocolate milk
• Tastes so good that KIDS will happily drink it
• Contains some organic ingredients
• Very affordable: Less than half the price of other superfoods
• Contains probiotics
• All ingredients are non-GMO
• 100% gluten-free
• Contains many superfoods like turmeric, green tea, chlorella, etc.
• The perfect superfood to introduce to someone who has never tried superfoods
• What we have in inventory right now is FRESH superfood, just manufactured for Natural News
• Not 100% certified organic.
• Not as nutrient dense as more expensive superfoods.
• Many ingredients are spray-dried with heat, so it’s not raw. There is some nutrient loss in all spray-dried powders compared to freeze-dried powders.
If you’re looking for a more nutrient-dense organic superfood, by the way, I recommend 100% organic USDA Enerfood, which is almost exactly twice the price.
Here’s a tip when it comes to using X-Balance. I find that many superfoods (like Enerfood and others) benefit significantly from an X-Balance taste boost. Simply mix these superfoods 50 / 50 into your blender or drink mix and you’ll vastly improve the taste and flavor!
If you’re new to using superfoods, this is a great way to make them incredibly tasty while your taste expectations adjust with time. If you’re introducing superfoods to someone who has never tried them, X-Balance is perfect because it shocks people who weren’t expecting it to taste so good!
Here’s an X-Balance recipe that’s really delicious:
The Health Ranger’s chocolate avocado superfood smoothie recipe (serves 2-3 people)
1 banana
1 fresh avocado
1-2 scoops of X-Balance
1-2 scoops of another superfood like Enerfood
1 scoop of chia seeds or flax seed (chia tastes better)
1 scoop of coconut sugar if you want it even sweeter
32 ounces of almond milk
Additional water to your preference
Optional: Add a scoop of raw cacao powder or vegetarian protein powder
Blend and enjoy!
This is an incredibly delicious “chocolate milkshake” like the ones you see me drinking out of a glass jar when I’m hosting national radio shows. Try it and you’ll see how delicious it is! The avocado gives it a smooth ice cream flavor. The X-Balance gives it a “chocolate milk” quality, and the Enerfood really packs a punch of nutritional awesomeness. (Is that a word? Heck, I’m using it… it just fits.)
If you’re making this recipe for kids or someone who has never tried superfoods, you can adjust the levels of the ingredients accordingly. Coconut sugar is rich in minerals, super low-glycemic, and it tastes almost exactly like refined white table sugar. Everybody loves coconut sugar, that’s for sure!
