A Victorian teenager has died after colliding with another rider during an afternoon of dirt-bike riding.
The girl and the other rider collided on a road in Koo Wee Rup, south-east of Melbourne, about 3.30pm.
The Koo Wee Rup girl died at the scene.
A teenage girl from Cranbourne North and a 22-year-old Koo Wee Rup man were both airlifted to hospital.
Intensive care paramedic Bryan Chesson said all the young people involved suffered head, limb and facial injuries.
The survivors were in stable condition but were suffering shock.
“This is an absolute tragedy,” he said.
“It’s three young people having some fun. They were on their dirt bikes. They’ve come to grief with significant injury.”
Mr Chesson said the accident was a timely reminder of how careful people needed to be on the roads.
Victoria’s road toll stands at 90, compared to 85 at the same time last year.
