Update on Gadhimai Festival in Nepal ~
The Gadhimai Festival is planned to take place in November during which up to a quarter of a million animals could be sacrificed. For 250 years the Hindu festival has continued relatively unchallenged, but as news of the inhumane slaughter has spread more animal welfare groups such as Compassion in World Farming are speaking out against it. This year, there are more people, groups and organisations which are not willing to sit back and let this cruelty happen once again.
CIWF initiatives to stop the slaughter:-
