“The Tears of the Indians” by Bartolomé de las Casas (1474-1566), an eye-witness, is a historical and true account of the cruel massacres and slaughters of 20+ million innocent people, committed by the Spaniards in the islands of Hispaniola, Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, & other places of the West-Indies, to the total destruction of those countries. Translated into English by John Phillips (1631-1706).

The Spanish BUTCHER WAS FAR WORSE THAN EVEN THIS CENSORED DRAWING OF THE TIME!

On Island of Hispaniola, to which the Spaniards came first, began the slaughters and ruins of humanity. They took away their women and children to serve them, though the reward which they gave them was a sad and fatal one.
Spaniards consumed the POOR INDIANS food given for free but that required great pain and dripping sweat to produce. One Spaniard consuming in one day as much as would suffice three families, every one containing ten persons.
The Indians were broken with so many evils, afflicted with so many torments, and handled so disgracefully, they began over time to see the Spaniards were not sent from Heaven. So some began hiding their children and wives
And therefore some of them hid their Children, others their Wives, others their stored foods in obscure and secret places. Others ran from the loud and evil Spanish for shelter in the most inaccessible mountains. The Spaniards applied cruel beatings with their fists & clubs and violently attacked the Rulers and Magistrates of their Cities including Captains force themselves on the Wife of the most potent King among them. But the Indians had no army or tools of war to defend themselves. And when the Indians tried to defend themselves the Spaniards came with their Horsemen well armed with Swords and Lances, and with cruel slicing and slaughter wiped them out. The Spanish Overran Cities and Villages, murdering regardless of sex or age with NO pity for Women or Children, and they would rip open their bellies, even the infants were hewn into pieces. They would often lay wagers on who cloud do the most cutting of men in half or cut off their heads. The Spanish grabbed the children by their feet and dashed their innocent heads against rocks. Sometimes they would run both Mother and unborn child in her belly quite through at one thrust.
They erected gallows so low, that the tormented creatures might touch the ground with their feet, upon which they would hang thirteen persons, blasphemously shouting that they did it in honor of our Redeemer and his Apostles, and then putting fire under them, they burnt the poor wretches alive. Some they would send away with their hands half-cut-off, and so hanging by the skin and scream at them to run away and carry the message to those who hid in the mountains. For the Indian Lords and Nobles the Spanish made forked sticks they planted in the ground points upward and put these high level people on them and put a gentle fire under, causing the fire to melt them away by degrees, to their unspeakable torment. When the torturous screams were too loud for the Captains they put on more wood to burn them up faster.
“Of these and other things innumerable I have been an eye-witness.” The cruelty of a Nation so inhumane, so void of piety and love to mankind, caused many to flee to the mountains so they hunted them with their Hounds that pulled them down and tore them to pieces (“tear the Indians”) like beasts. Indians did occasionally kill a Spaniard, so the Spaniards made a Law among themselves, that for one Spaniard so slain, they should kill a hundred Indians.
