There Is a Hierarchy In “The Swamp”

In 2016, Presidential Candidate Donald Trump promised a pumped-up crowd of red-hats that he will “Drain the swamp.” Meaning if was elected he would “drain the swamp” of lobbyists in Washington and foreign agents as a way of “Making America Great Again.”

Washington is a marshy swamp filled with corruption more than ever. Pay-to-play politics is here to stay. Trump put even more alligators into the swamp party over the past 15 months.

Trump was correct by saying Hillary Clinton is in the back pocket of the lobbyists, but would Hillary be brazen enough if elected President to appoint multiple Goldman Sachs members into her administration? Trump appointed Gary Cohn (who left April 2, 2018) as his director of National Economic Council; Cohn was COO of Goldman Sachs from 2006 to 2017. Trump appointed Steve Mnuchin as Secretary of Treasury; Mnuchin worked for Goldman Sachs until “Billionaire George Soros hired him in 2003 to start a new business focused on buying risky debt.”

When Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State in the Obama administration, her husband President Bill Clinton headed up the Clinton Initiative. The Atlantic reported the Clintons were “engaged in a “pay-to-play” scheme, whereby donors—many of them foreign governments—would contribute money to the charity in exchange for access to Bill or Hillary Clinton, or worse, beneficial treatment from the State Department.”

According to Trump, the pay-for-play system was proven corrupt by Wikileaks’ Julian Assange, who in October 2016 released emails from Hillary Clinton suggesting that the Clintons were bribed by the king of Morocco; the Clinton Global Initiative would host a summit and receive $12 million, if Hillary Clinton attended the May 2015 meeting.

Read this article if you think that Julian Assange is a hero for releasing “crooked” Hillary’s emails.

Nick Mulvaney, Donald Trump’s acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which is a financial consumer watchdog position, delivered some good news if you are a lobbyist. Mulvaney told lobbyists last Tuesday that there is a hierarchy of access in his former congressional office.

“We had a hierarchy in my office in Congress,” Mr. Mulvaney said, according to The New York Times. Mulvaney, a former Republican lawmaker from South Carolina, told 1,300 bankers in a speech at an American Bankers Association event in Washington, “If you’re a lobbyist who never gave us money, I didn’t talk to you. If you’re a lobbyist who gave us money, I might talk to you.”

Washington Post reported “he (Mulvaney) never spoke to lobbyists who hadn’t given him money, sometimes spoke to lobbyists who had, but always spoke to constituents who “came from back home and sat in my lobby.””

You don’t need to listen to Dr. John Coleman about the pyramid scheme of the Bilderbergs and the Committee of 300 in order to understand the hierarchy of Trump’s murky pay-for-play swamp.

How about a bad joke to mark the occasion?

Q: What do you call an alligator in a vest?

A: An investigator.

Since Mulvaney has been acting director of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), many consumer advocates have accused Mulvaney of favoring banks and businesses.

Daily Beast: “At least eight registered lobbyists and six other executives who donated to Mulvaney’s congressional campaigns..”

Mulvaney’s lobbyist “Swamp Thing” powwows might as well take the Jewish Harlem Snake to Washington!

Mulvaney said when he was hired earlier this year, “Rumors that I’m going to set the place on fire, or blow it up, or lock the doors, are completely false.”
