Tehran-Ankara relations are progressing well and there is no such thing suggesting the two countries are falling apart, Davutoglu said in a Thursday interview with the Turkish news channel NTV.
He also said Ankara does not incorporate religious considerations in its foreign policy and considers both Iranian and Iraqi Shias as its brothers.
The Turkish foreign minister also argued that his country views the Syrian crisis merely from a “humanitarian” point of view and not from a religious one.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. Many people, including security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.
Davutoglu went on to say that Turkey has so far carried out numerous consultations with Iran with regard to the situation in Syria, and stressed that Tehran and Ankara will continue their ties based on mutual trust.
Last week, Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour hailed the four-decade-old peaceful ties between Iran and Turkey and insisted that the mutual trust between the two neighboring countries has thwarted the plots of the ill-wishers to disrupt bilateral ties.
