Two Gaza protesters, including deaf boy die of wounds

On Monday, two Palestinian protesters from Gaza, including deaf boy succumbed to wounds sustained by Israeli snipers when they participated in Great March of Return activities on Friday.

Eighteen-year-old Tahrir Wahaba, 17, was shot in the head on Friday in the east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Gaza health officials said Wahaba succumbed to his wounds on Monday morning.

Another peaceful protester, identified as 20-year-old Abdullah Shamali, sustained “bullet wounds to his belly” during the peaceful demonstrations along the border fence in Rafah.

Shamali is the 40th Gazan to be killed by the Israeli occupation snipers during the peaceful demonstrations organised as part of the Great March of Return, which started on March 30 and expected to last until May 15.

Gaza health officials said that more than 5,000 unarmed protesters have been wounded since the beginning of the demonstrations.
