The two men were shot dead early Tuesday after armed men attacked a sit-in staged by Morsi’s supporters near Cairo University, official Al-Ahram daily reported on its website.
A hospital official reportedly said that it had received two bodies early Tuesday.
The new deaths push to nine the number of people have died in clashes between opponents and supporters of Morsi since Monday. Dozens others were also injured in the violence.
Three other people were killed in clashes in the capital’s Nasr City and the city of Giza, medical officials said.
The clashes broke out on Monday after several hundred pro-Morsi protesters marched towards the US Embassy to stage a demonstration against alleged American interference in Egypt’s domestic affairs.
Morsi’s supporters passed an entrance to Cairo’s iconic Liberation Square, manned by the opponents, while pelting each other with volleys of stones and birdshot. The violence left four people dead and 26 injured.
The recent clashes came after Morsi’s family announced plans to sue the military for “kidnapping” the country’s elected president.
Tension has intensified in Egypt since al-Sisi said on July 3 that Morsi was no longer in office. He also suspended the constitution and dissolved the parliament.
On July 4, the military declared the chief justice of Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court, Adly Mansour, as interim president.
Morsi has been held at an undisclosed location since his overthrow in the military coup. Several countries, including the US and Germany, have called for his release.
