Awake Goy IRNA – United Nations secretary general’s special envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed described his recent visit to Iran and talks with Iranian officials on Yemen crisis as promising and constructive.
He underlined again that the only political solution may end Yemen crisis and praised the outcomes of his meetings with Iranian officials on the crisis.
‘In my third visit to Tehran I faced warm welcome of Iranians and they firmly supported the UN efforts and expressed their readiness for cooperation and connection with Ansarullah to persuade them for cooperation with the UN,’ the envoy said.
Cheikh Ahmed reiterated that the Iranian brothers totally agreed with us that Yemen crisis could be settled solely through political means and we reached agreement together that all efforts should be in direction.
