The incident took place late Friday, in the city of Ghazni’s east.
Although locals say the victims were all civilians with no Taliban ties, Ghazni officials claim that they were militants.
The deaths follow another attack in the province of Kapisa which left at least eight civilians dead.
Meanwhile, at least five policemen were killed in Uruzgan Province’s Trinkot city, after a bomb struck an on-duty patrol vehicle. A foreign soldier was also killed in Afghanistan’s troubled south.
Although the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 removed the Taliban from power, insecurity continues to rise in the country, despite the presence of some 130,000 US-led troops.
Thousands of civilians, including women and children, have been killed as a result of the war.
