US Election: Barack Obama and Mitt Romney in dueling rallies

“The path we represent will not raise taxes. We are going to make it
easier for businesses to grow. I’m convinced we can do better. We can do a
better job as a nation. America’s coming back. This is the comeback team.”

Meanwhile, Mr
Obama
travelled up from Florida to address a rally in Ohio. Earlier
today his campaign team released a new, 20-page booklet laying out his
second-term agenda.

Mr Obama told the crowd: “We can’t go back to what got us into this mess.
We need to move forward with what’s getting us out of this mess.

“Last night, Governor Romney looked you right in the eye and tried to
pretend that he never said ‘let Detroit go bankrupt.’ The people of Ohio
don’t forget. If Mitt Romney had been president…we might not have an
American auto industry.”

The latest CBS News national poll does show Mr Obama in the lead at 48 to 46
per cent, but it is within the poll’s margin of error.

Today’s ABC/Washington Post poll also has the race within the margin of error
although others, like Gallup’s daily tracking poll, put Mr Romney ahead.
