Vic police impound man’s car

Victorian police have impounded a man’s car after he was allegedly caught speeding, telling officers that “he needed to get to Adelaide”.

Police say the 22-year-old from South Australia was clocked doing 157 kilometres per hour in a 100 zone on the Western Highway near Stawell, in the state’s west, just after midnight (AEDT) on Wednesday.

The international licence holder has had his car impounded for 30 days under the hoon legislation and is expected to be charged with traffic-related offences.
