Acclaimed producer Adam Liberman and Emanuel Synagogue invite expressions of interest for professional actors to audition for a dramatised reading of the play Two Sisters, to co-star with celebrated actress and comedian Jean Kittson.

From playwright Gail Louw, Two Sisters is a funny and poignant story of two sisters who reunite on a kibbutz in Israel for the elder sister’s 75th birthday, revealing their secrets, lies, jealousies, humour, and their love for each other.
The part calls for a woman aged in her 60s or early 70s.
Shortlisted auditions will involve line readings with Jean Kittson on 22 April and subsequent rehearsals.
Live performances, held at Emanuel Synagogue in Woollahra, will take place on Wednesday 19 May, Thursday 20 May, and Saturday 22 May at 7.30pm, as well as a 2.00pm matinee performance on Sunday 23 May.
Writing for Broadway World, reviewer Shari Barrett said of the play’s 2016 US debut that Gail Louw had written “…an exquisite play”.
“Two Sisters will definitely resonate with anyone who’s ever been part of a family,” she wrote.
Jean Kittson is one of Australia’s leading comedians and entertainers, with acting credits including Mum’s the Word, Calendar Girls and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She is a regular guest on the ABC radio show Thank God It’s Friday and the author of several books, including You’re Still Hot to Me: The Joys of Menopause.
Producer Adam Liberman counts among his credits Freud’s Last Session with Henri Szeps (Theatre Royal), Blonde Poison with Belinda Giblin (Sydney Opera House), The Time Machine with Mark Lee (NIDA Playhouse), and Lip Service with Amanda Muggleton (MTC’s Lawler Theatre).
Director Nicholas Papademetriou is an actor and director who has worked for major theatre companies including STC, MTC, Belvoir, Ensemble and Sport for Jove.
