A woman hurt in a serious crash in far north Queensland on Tuesday has died.
The woman’s car left the road at Brinsmead, in Cairns, crashed into pole and rolled around 12.10am (AEST), police say.
The 23-year-old had to be freed from the car and was rushed to Cairns Base Hospital, where she has died as a result of her serious injuries.
A 28-year-old, the only passenger in the vehicle, was treated for minor injuries.
Forensic investigations continue.
As the accident occurred during the Queensland Police Christmas road operation, the holiday road toll will be revised from nine to 10, a spokeswoman said.
