15 Signs We May Be in the End Times

_____There are very distinct signs of the end times according to the Bible. They were given by Jesus, Paul, and several Prophets. These are all signs that something is amiss in the world, something the mainstream churches and media refuse to talk about. That we may be in the end times…

[Disclaimer: I am not promoting nor believe the silly 2012 predictions based upon Mayan calendar flaws (honestly those guys couldn’t even invent the wheel). This is merely a reflection of events we have experienced and the times we live from a Biblical perspective.]

1. Earthquakes

_____When asked by the Apostles on the Mount of Olives about what the signs would be indicating His return and the end of the age, Jesus responded: ” For Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various placed there will be famines and earthquakes. (Matthew 24:7).

The past two years has seen an unbelievable increase in the number of global earthquakes, especially major earthquakes (magnitude of 7.0 or greater). There has been a drastic upward trend in the number of earthquakes in the last decade. In 2012 alone, we have seen four major (8.0+) earthquakes all along the ‘Ring of Fire.’ In 2001, there was 137 earthquakes of a 6.0 magnitude or greater and in 2011 there were 205. As the graphic shows, there has been a clear upward trend in global earthquakes. We are even seeing earthquakes in such places as Oklahoma and Arkansas where 50 years ago earthquakes were unheard of. In Arizona, historically not known for any earthquakes, experienced 131 earthquakes in 2011, after 53 in 2010. The trend graph shows how consistent the rate was between 1973 and 1999, only in the new millennium have we seen such a drastic upward trend.

2. Volcanos/Ring of Fire Rising

_____Volcanic activity has also been on the rise on par with earthquakes recently. Many long dormant volcanoes are now showing signs of becoming active again. In Mexico, the volcano Popocatépetl, only 35 miles from Mexico City began a series of small eruptions in late April. The last major eruption occurred in 1947, now over 30 million people live in sight of the volcano. The famous Mt. Fuji, dormant for over 300 years, has also experienced earthquakes indicating it is quickly becoming active, with new craters and gas venting. The Icelandic volcanoes that halted international air travel for a week in 2010, are well due for a major eruption according to scientists, the increasing earthquakes and ash venting proves they may be right. Ash has been seen venting from the Anak Krakatau in Indonesia.

3. The Sun

_____The unusual solar activity we have been observing the last decade has wreaked havoc from electrical disruptions to the trend of global cooling we have experienced. After two years of almost no sun spots and a decade of decreased solar spots, in a time when scientists expected it to be most active, the sun has come alive with never before seen phenomenon. Just this past month a giant solar tornado occurred on the surface that was five times larger than earth. Scientists are now expecting a larger than ever solar flare that will have the power to fry most modern electronics on the planet. NASA scientists believe there is a 1 in 8 chance that by 2020 there will be a major solar flare that will devastate modern society.

4. Famines/Global Food Prices Rising

_____Jesus also made a point to tell his Apostles that famines will occur as well. Of course these have existed since the fall of man, but as Jesus says “for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.” (Matthew 24:6)

_____Global food prices this year have been rising every month. Prices are higher than the food crisis in 2007-2008 that caused global concern and even riots in some places. Prices are rising for many reasons including the rising cost of fuel/transportation, increased demand, and even price speculation. One reason should worry us the most, the fall in food production globally. Many staple food crop production rates have fallen recently, wheat falling 1.4% and corn by nearly 3%. In the 15th century the world experienced less than 10 famines, in the 20th century we had 44 famines, in the 21st we have already had 12 famines. As food prices rise and famines increase, global stability is likely to fall.

5. Mass Deaths

_____Another bizarre phenomenon has been occurring with regular frequency around the world, mass animal deaths. Last year the story even broke into the national media for a short time when thousands of birds fell from the sky dead in Beebe, Arkansas. Oddly a few days later thousands of fish were found dead in Arkansas as well. Stories of mass animals deaths spread around the globe after the media picked it up. The story disappeared as quickly as it came, but the deaths have not stopped. This year almost to the day, thousands more birds fell dead in Beebe, Arkansas. 20 tons of dead fish were found dead on a Norway beach in January. Thousands of dolphins have been found dead, washed up on beaches around the world. Also one of the most horrific animal holocausts we have seen has occurred in the last decade, White Nose Syndrome (WNS), affecting bats, and the mysterious bee Colony Collapse Disorder. WNS has killed millions of bats in North America and continues to spread. It has a kill rate upwards of 95% when a colony is infected. Bees have also seen millions of deaths due to an unknown pathogen of environmental toxin, dubbed Colony Collapse Disorder. Both bats and bees are very important animals to agriculture, pollinating millions of acres of crops and flowers. The continued loss at such rates will doom agriculture worldwide.

6. Giant Sinkholes

_____Another continuing phenomenon around the world but lightly reported by the media is the development of giant sinkholes overnight. After this hole in Guatemala opened up it reportedly emitted a foul stench, tremors, and loud noises. The near perfect circle dropped over 100ft into the earth suddenly. This past month several families were forced to move from their homes in central Florida after a 100ft wide sinkhole opened. These holes continue to open up across the world.

7. Strange Sounds

_____Strange sounds have been reported being heard across the world in the last two years. Sometimes the sounds are reminisce of low rumbling noises, like a train or thunder. Other times it sounds more like a groaning or trumpet. Usually these would be dismissed as hoaxes, but when entire towns are reporting the sounds and even the same sound across a country, like in Costa Rica recently, it is likely more than a simple hoax. One town that made the national news media with sounds was Clintonville, Wisconsin. Scientists believe that almost non stop micro-earthquakes caused the echoes of rumblings in the town. Scientists have even reported unidentified sounds underwater, they recur randomly, and are the loudest sounds on the earth. They can be heard over 5,000km. A few of the more famous underwater sounds are: Bloop, Slow Down, Whistle, and Unsweep.

8. Perpetual War

“For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.” (Matthew 24:7)

_____We have also seen wars in the past, many great wars of unimaginable destruction. What is different since the millennium is that we have seen the rise of perpetual wars and a greater frequency of wars. In the 15th century there were roughly 30 wars, in the 20th century we say 278 wars, and in the first decade of the 21st century we have already seen 55 wars and counting. Before wars would begin and end, now wars do not end they only shift battlefields and tactics. The global War on Terror is a perfect example of how wars will be fought in the near future, with disregard to civilian life, disfavor of diplomacy, and with a goal of instituting a one world government. Our own Nobel Peace Prize President has only fueled the flames of conflict and continued to kill women and children with armed drones and missile strikes. While 30 or 40 years ago our Presidents on both the right and left actually sat down and talked with the greatest threat our nation has ever faced, the Soviet Union, our politicians today will not consider diplomatic avenues towards nations that pose no threat to United States, only wishing to demand ultimatums and threaten war if our arrogant demands are not met. Unfortunately it seems we have little hope of peace in the 21st century.

9. Rising Persecution of Christians Worldwide

_____Jesus also told his Apostles that “They will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of my name.” (Matthew 24:9) Jesus knew that Christians would be the last vestige of hope and love in the world before the Second Coming, because of our unwillingness to surrender to the wickedness of the world we will be hated by all.

_____Christians today face persecution around the globe. It is certainly not to the point indicated by Jesus that all will hate us, but every year we creep closer to that reality. Domestically, we see Christianity under attack in schools, in the courts, and in the publics square. Schools have been on the forefront of the assault on Christianity for decades, slowly eliminating references to the importance of Christianity to our founding. Today children face expulsion or reprimands for talking to fellow students about God or praying publicly. In the courts, street preachers are facing arrest and fines for absurd charges as disorderly conduct and public disturbance. Our public institutions have been systemtically cleansed of religious references regardless of the historical significance. It has even become shameful for Believers to reference the Bible or Christianity in the public forum. Our own nation, undeniably influenced by Christianity and the democratic ideals developed within, has come to the forefront of the attack on Christian values and the institutions upon which our nation rests. Thankfully we have not yet come to the point of murdering Christians like many countries of the world. The rate of Christian martyrdom globally has skyrocketed in the last two decades, due to both an increase in sharing the Gospel and outright hostility to the message. We are certainly on the path to being “hated by all nations,” as Jesus said.

10. Rising immorality or Godlessness

_____Paul warned the early Church that there would come a time when many “will turn away their ears from the Truth and will turn to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:4) Jesus also told the Apostles that, “As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be before the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matthew 24:37) Also in parallel of the Gospel of Luke: “As it was in the days of Lot, thus shall it be in the days when the Son of Man is revealed.” (17:28,30)

_____What was the world like in the days of Lot and Noah? Of course both were marked by wickedness (Noah surviving the judgement of God by the Flood, and Lot escaping the judgement of Sodom). These times were also marked by a people being concerned not of God and Salvation, but of worldly things. Sodom was most well known for its sexual immorality. Are we living like the days of Noah and Lot?

11. False Prophets

_____Jesus told us that “Many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:5) He again warned the Apostles that “There shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders.” (Matthew 24:24) Jesus spoke to his Disciples of many who will come in His name, falsely, and mislead many people. There will be a great false revival in the end times, in which a great Anti-Christ will rise to deceive many into worshipping him and Satan.

_____ Once can easily point to the rise and acceptance of cults in the last 20 years. From Jim Jones, to Branch Davidians to Scientology, cults are becoming more numerous and popular. Even the military now offers worship services and funeral ceremonies for soldiers who are pagan. Today we can see this false revival beginning to take place, even within the confines of “mainstream Christianity.” Many church denominations today do not hold the Bible as truly the Revelation of God, but merely a book written by man to provide guiding principles. Theological heresies such as non-trinitarianism, salvation through works, and universalism are more popular than ever and deceiving many from truly being saved through Christ. Politically, our “Christian mainstream” has accepted, sometimes even celebrating, sinful behaviors from adultery to abortion and homosexuality. Unfortunately churches today are not concerned with teaching a pure Gospel that offers eternal salvation but with being politically correct and relevant to our post-modern culture. We walk a dangerous tightrope teaching a watered down gospel, fearful to take a righteous stand for Christ.

12. Rise of One World Government

_____The Book of Revelation describes the final battle between Satan and God, with Christ ultimately triumphing and restoring God’s kingdom. The worldly leader of the insurrection against God is the Anti-Christ, who will be the sole ruler of all people, nations, and religions. “And he was given authority to rule over every tribe and people and language and nation. All who dwell on Earth shall worship him, everyone whose name has not been written in the book of life.” (Revelation 13:7-8)

_____Unstoppable globalization is yet another sign that we may be in the end times. Never before have we seen such powerful worldwide organizations, whether corporate or governmental. Everyday we see the largest companies get larger, just since the 2008 financial crisis the five largest bank’s assets have nearly doubled to equal 56% of the US economy. There are now fewer than half as many banks as there was 20 years ago. Not only will the Anti-Christ rule over commerce but governments. With the dawn of ever powerful multinational government entities this picture, once unimaginable, is now very likely. The growing power of the United Nations, NATO, European Union, World Bank, and International Monetary Fund is all headed towards a one world governing body which might very well be the tool the Anti-Christ uses against the followers of God.

13. Evacuation/Civil Unrest Drills

_____Although our leaders have never said that any catastrophes are coming, they sure act otherwise. Recently children across the country have been subjected to “relocation drills.” If parents are even told about the drills beforehand, they are only told they will be moved to “an undisclosed location.” One particularly disturbing drill in Michigan simulated an explosion at the school and involved moving the children by buses to nearby triage centers. Parents in that case were thankfully told ahead of time, unlike a drill that took place in Idaho. The children were removed by bus in less than an hour and it was only “later revealed that they were bussed to a wellness center.” Sometimes the schools drama club is recruited to act as ‘victims’ during the drill. These drills serve almost no purpose and are deliberately traumatizing children without the notification of their parents. Beyond the traumatization, there is a subtle message in every drill, that parents are unable to protect their children and that radical Christians are a danger to people and government. This was the case in a New Jersey drill where students were told the fictitious gunmen were a group of “fundamentalist Christians.” These are some of the more shocking examples, there have also been Army black helicopter training drills in Chicago and Los Angeles and civil disarmament plans in the National Guard. If we are starting to see the markets stabilize, greater equality, and success on the war on terror why are these drills necessary?

14. FEMA Camps

_____These rumors have been circulating since the late 1980?s but only recently have been openly confirmed by the military and government. When you place these camps in the context of the relocation drills, the drills seem to make better sense. FEMA camps have been deployed in recent natural disasters such as the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. There is much speculation that could be made about the camps, but there has been documents openly admitting there existence and future use. One was discovered in late 2011 showed that Halliburton won a bid to run the camps and they were soliciting sub contractors to run various services within the camps. The document indicated the services must able to be established within 24 hours of activation of the camps that ranged in size from 300 to over 2,000 people. Another ominous document leaked this year was entitled Internment and Resettlement Operations, detailing the procedure the Army has for interning individuals. There are many US specific references in the document indicating that it is intended for use stateside, including stating several times “operations within US territory,” using internees social security numbers as identifiers, and stating that US citizens would be detained away from foreign nationals. If you would like to see the leaked document yourself, check it out here. Yes, the camps are real, they are now openly admitted by the military.

15. NDAA/Executive Orders

_____The last piece of the puzzle that something is horribly wrong domestically is the passages of legislation such as the National Defense Authorization Act and Executive Orders allowing the detention and stripping of US citizens rights. The NDAA, allowing indefinite detention of US citizens, was enacted after President Obama shamelessly lied to veto the bill if passed. There was alot of disinformation spread at the time of the bill’s passage, so I would like to merely point out the most frightening provisions in the bill using the black letter. The bill specifically allows indefinite detention of anyone accused of the acts in section (b). The bill also expands the war on terror with vague terms as “substantially supported and associated forces.” What these mean exactly is not known, it is dangerously more vague than any previous defense appropriations bill regarding the war on terror. The NDAA also applies to US citizens, as many legal commentators have pointed out. The bill does not exempt citizens from any detention, but only exempts citizens from mandatory military detention. The vagueness seems to indicate that military detention for US citizens is optional. I hope these are a wake up call that our world is spiraling towards a prophetic and predicted future. A future of great calamities and trials, but also of great triumph.
