Orange Country District Attorney Tony Rackauckas announced Wednesday that he was charging two Fullerton, California police officers in the July 5 death of a mentally ill homeless man.
Officer Manuel Ramos faces charges of second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter for allegedly killing Kelly Thomas. Police Cpl. Jay Cicinelli was charged with involuntary manslaughter and excessive force.
“The cause of death in this case is — it’s mechanical compression of the thorax, making it impossible for Kelly Thomas to breathe normally,” Rackauckas explained during a press conference. “In other words, the chest being compressed, Kelly Thomas was not able to inhale, and he can’t take in oxygen. Over time his brain was deprived of oxygen, and he became unconscious and went into a coma and died. That is the primary cause of death. The other injuries to the face and head contributed to the death.”

Super Duper, these crimes will never be a thing of the past.
They may be reduced if we keep firearms handy and gun down these pigs when they do these things but as long as the government wants henchmen to do their bidding there will be goons who are eager to provide their fascist best!
BTW, as long as cops enjoy higher protection of the law, and their pig dogs as well I.E. killing a pig dog is treated as “killing an officer” (human), they should be given the same punishment as those who would commit a crime against them. Three times the statutory punishment should be the minimum for committing a crime “under color of authority”!
These officers, and their eager accomplices should be up for the death penalty and life in prison without parole, respectively.

These cops are going to get off just like (all the other cops that have killed innocents) like the organized crime figures did back in the depression. They will coerce and threaten witnesses and jurors. If need be they will “disappear” witnesses with damaging testimony. Juror’s families will be threatened by using their (police) access to records. All this is in the truest tradition of the organized crime families. The courts are no better and even worse as they condone this police murders and brutality.
If these pigs walk on this then it is up to the “People” to bring them to justice as the courts will not.

They they would argue that since the evidence is in the public domain, it can no longer be used.
Some UK cops used that as a excuse – homeowner set up home CCTV system for security. Caught criminals committing crime, viewed tape to confirm evidence was on tape. Called police who then told him that since he had viewed the tape, it could no longer be used as evidence.
Uh, there were SIX piggies involved.

Anyone who supports power hungry, hateful police will, sooner or later, feel the sting of their taser and the thud of their baton.

This is a small victory Kelly Thomas should still be alive today and I just hope justice will be served and the police departments all over will learn from this that it is not ok to beat people innocent or guilty we have a court system for a reason because we’re not animals and we can be civilized not barbaric and blood thirsty. Too many innocent people die everyday and the only way it’ll ever stop is if we say “STOP!” this might not be the result everyone wanted but its a step in the right direction. R.I.P. Kelly Thomas.

A large amount of truth in that. Frankly, I can do without any police. They myth that society will collapse without them is mostly bogus. At least cut the force in half. When police start enforcing good laws, with truth and honor, and behave like honorable men, i’m sure they will find a much more supportive community.

It does not happen in every mans life that a situation like this arrives where a Man has to do what a Man has to do. I’m amazed that we never hear of Men doing what we all know needs being done. If I had this situation arise in my life I would do what needs being done right then and there.
Situations can and do arrive in mens lives that change the whole game of life. Some things can arise that require you to grab your Rifle or cower.

There is such a thing as accessory to a crime or murder and those involved should be charged. I do not agree with the system in sending a killer to life in prison. The cost to house a prisoner is about $65,000 a year and that was 20 years ago when I was in Corrections Theory. When I see this country as a police state and this country has the largest prison population on planet Earth it makes me sick to think how much the tax payer is paying to house killers and violent criminals. They should be dealt with in the cheapest manner, the rope or a single bullet to the brain…

I had it happen to me, but I remained calm and quiet. No witnesses and no camera either. Lawyer said, I couldn’t fight the system because the Judge would side with the men in blue. Yes, I am very sorry for Kelly, but his death will certainly make a dent in the corrupt system we have; I’m sure it will take a few more Kelly’s first though.
