What would our founders say if they could see us now? Americans like to believe that the rest of the world looks up to us, but the truth is that the rest of the world is laughing at us. It may be very difficult for us to admit, but the reality is that America has become a nation of slobs. And I am not just talking about being overweight. Today, Americans are physical, mental, emotional, moral, financial and political slobs. We are addicted to entertainment, we are addicted to shopping, we are addicted to food, we are addicted to prescription drugs, and we are addicted to anything else that gives us the pleasure that we crave. We allow our televisions to do our thinking for us and our families are falling apart. Our lives center around pleasing ourselves, and we have become one of the most narcissistic societies in the history of the world. We are like a middle-aged man that has totally let himself go. You know the guy who shows up for an important event in sandals, sweatpants and a stained t-shirt? That is us. We are only a shadow of what we once were as a nation, and we desperately need to change course.

So what is the solution?

Well, just like any addict, the first thing that we need to do is to admit that there is a problem. Until we admit how dramatically we have fallen, we are never going to be ready to make the changes that are necessary.

And yes, we have fallen a long, long way as a country.

The following are 24 facts that prove that America is a nation of slobs….

#1 Right now, approximately 36 percent of all Americans are obese. It is being projected that number will rise to 42 percent by 2030.

#2 Back in 1962, only 13 percent of all Americans were obese.

#3 Medical costs related to obesity in the United States are estimated to be approximately $147 billion a year.

#4 All over America, our infrastructure is crumbling. For example, in the most populated county in Alabama potholes the size of pizzas now litter the roads.

#5 The average American family purchases 200 pounds of meat per family member each year.

#6 Large numbers of cows that are killed for hamburger meat in America stand ankle-deep in their own manure all day long.

#7 The average American watches 28 hours of television every week.

#8 U.S. corporations sell more fast food and more soda than anyone else in the world by a very wide margin.

#9 The average American drinks more than 600 sodas every single year. That is by far the most in the world.

#10 Of all the major industrialized nations, America is the most obese. Mexico is in second place.

#11 Americans take more prescription drugs than anyone else on the planet.

#12 The United States has the highest rate of illegal drug use in the entire world.

#13 According to the Pew Research Center, only 51 percent of all Americans that are at least 18 years old are currently married. Back in 1960, 72 percent of all U.S. adults were married.

#14 The United States has the highest divorce rate in the world by a very wide margin.

#15 According to one study, one out of every four teen girls in the United States has at least one sexually transmitted disease.

#16 The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate on the entire globe.

#17 The United States has the highest child abuse death rate on the entire globe.

its their right/ problem .

the author assumes that these are NATIONAL problems when in reality , it all comes back to personal responsibility , my problems are not the nations problem, they are mine.

#1 ALL Americans obese? Ever see American Indians, or those with Indian blood (Mexicans, Central Americans, South Americans)? How about blacks? Ever notice the caboose hanging off moochelle osambo?

#2 Back in 1962, we had less televisions, and more parents who gave a damn about their kids.

#3 What sort of “costs?” Fat pills, gyms? Please be more specific.

#4 “…(I)nfrastructure is crumbling” because Americans are “slobs?” How about declining tax revenues, because Americans are OUT OF WORK, and are not allowed to start their own little businesses because of green libtards like you?

#5 Ever hear of “sales?” FREEZERS? FREEZER BAGS? Yup, a lot of Americans like me buy a lot of meat. We bag it, freeze it, use it at our leisure.

#6 Don’t know where you get YOUR BEEF, jerko, I get organic or canned from Amish farmers.

They’re whatever this a$$ of a writer could use to prove his “point.” In reality, he has none.
All are problems of the nation and large problems at that. With such a large obesity rate the nation can no longer produce. Consumption of the welfare options begin to take off with an increased need in healthcare and such.

When individual problems are on such a grand scale, then it is a collective problem and in this example I believe it is an American problem.

The solution to this problem is to help each other, but first the people must realize exactly what they are and what they want. If they want to remain slobs, then they have no right to complain of those who are at the helm. If people are changing from within, naturally they will want to change their external surroundings.

-Personal Health
-Personal Appearance
-Well being
-Family
-Culture
-Society
-Public Image
*Why?*
-Obese people perform less work than a fit person.
-Obese people are prone to physiological ailments leading to intake of drugs, legal and illegal, thus further hindering their productivity.
-Obese people are more often than not less motivated. Why haven’t the potholes been filled? Check out Georgia obesity statistics and then statistically apply them to the road departments. Fat people hate the heat, particularly when it’s time to work.
Obese people are more likely to have low self esteem. If that can’t be directly related to unhealthy sexual practices, then the energy can be transferred to those within the family.
*What’s the problem?*
-Obese people will likely quit work earlier and begin drawing social welfare earlier.
-Obese people are less likely be able to pay into the system that keeps them alive.
-Obese people will promote a culture of hedonism and gluttony furthering the cultural descent.
-Obesity is the number one problem and the number one eyesore of America. Abroad it is what we are known for.

Finally, Obesity will make a person complacent. It will make a person unwilling to fight his/her own battles. If they will not fight their own battles for personal liberation, then how can you all expect your countrymen to line up beside you and fight for national liberty?

Yeah, some Americans are consumption pigs with little interest in politics as they suck down their sodas and chips while sitting in front of the tube watching the latest game. BUT, this is not the majority of the American people.

Non participation in the political arena is our biggest failing, and our government knows this of us, and thus aim their marketing to keep those who would become involved, mentally sidetracked with disinformation and bull shit to the point that it is almost impossible to keep up with their shenanigans. So, most just turn it off.

Continually pointing out how we are fucked up as Americans does nothing to help solve the problems we face. Also, if you try and make a silk purse out of a Sow’s ear, you’ll be sadly disappointed…… GET OVER IT !!!
Well do something about it, no good crying one needs to turn everything around, remember it took years to get to this, and it will take years to undo. But elite want it this way so to have more control and power over the masses, but it is up to us to make sure the children get the best education, so they will have control over their lives in the future. Of cause be kind to each other and help each other to improve one’s lot in life. Kindness understanding and love for all life is the way to go, that is what I think that could happen to make things better. To come to think about it the American people do have hearts of gold, there is so much goodness and beauty in America, but what the elite banker’s doing to American people is so cruel, I hope it all turns around soon for the better. Speaking from religious tradition, pornography is not good for the soul and it is distressing to read that America is the largest producer (and apparently consumer)…..but in all fairness, you could bring up the relative unattractiveness of some other candidates for this business.
