He appears to have made an annual tradition out of attempting to get it right. No, not his performance at Wimbledon – his choice of motor.
Once again, Andy Murray has swapped one luxury car for another.
The British tennis star was spotted driving a silver £85,000 Jaguar XKR convertible through south-west London yesterday.
Andy Murray has earned more than £13million in prize money during his career, and spent a lot of it on luxury cars
Wheel deal: Andy Murray arrives at Wimbledon in his new convertible Jaguar XKR
It replaces the grey Aston Martin he bought last year for up to £135,000. And that replaced the £100,000 red Ferrari F430 he bought a year before that.
The 25-year-old has earned more than £13million in prize money during his career, so the cost of his chosen cars is unlikely to be an object – but he admitted feeling the Ferrari was ‘too flash’.
He said: ‘I’m quite a conservative driver, but when I was driving that you’d get beeped for getting out of the car.’
Last year’s model: Murray in his Aston Martin
And the year before: Murray treated himself to a new Ferrari in November 2009 even though he only passed his driving test in August that year

For that money he could have bought a personality.

I hope one day Murray wins Wimbledon. I’ve seen him play flashes of incredibly brilliant tennis on the courts. I always wondered whether he lacks the killer instincts; the stuff of which champions are made or his personal hubris gets in in the way of his game. And again, he has the misfortune to have a field of impossibly talented maestro’s at the top 10, all vying for that trophy ~ playing superlative tennis of all time. Every year, Murray has made an unforced error, depriving himself of the ultimate prize. There’s something lacking in his play which only he and his coach can eliminate. Good luck for Wimbledon 2012, Andy Murray, although as always, I’m rooting for my personal No.1 VAMOS.

I like that he is driving these cars. I doubt it’s to impress girls, as he’s been dating one woman for YEARS! Whats the point being a millionaire, driving an Austin Metro.

I would never support such a miserable unsportsmanlike character as him.

and so speaks one of England’s great losers. A nation that hates anybody winning anything – especially if he/she is BRITISH !
