FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda Security forces reportedly attacked the pro-democracy protesters with sound grenades and teargas canisters. Activists say several have been injured.
Thousands of protesters had taken to the streets across the country.
Once again demonstrators called for the release of prominent human rights activist Abdul Hadi al-Khawaja, who has been on a hunger strike for three months.
The activist was arrested last April for protesting against the regime in Manama.
The latest developments come as the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is set to discuss Bahrain’s rights record in the upcoming session of its Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group in Geneva.
Since the beginning of the popular revolution in Bahrain in February 2011, large numbers of anti-government protesters have poured into the streets across the oil-rich state, demanding more rights, freedom, and wide-ranging political reforms in the authoritative political system of their country.
Scores of people have either lost their lives or sustained injuries as a result of the continuing systematic clampdown on mass anti-regime rallies, and the deployment of foreign forces to stifle public demands in Bahrain. Thousands more have been arrested or expelled from their jobs.
