The train was on its way to Islahiye town when the blast occurred, TRT Turk reported on Monday, adding that five of the freight train’s wagons derailed due to the strength of the explosion.
It was not immediately clear what caused the explosion, but initial investigations have blamed saboteurs for the incident.
The train was carrying an iron cargo.
