As Ukraine prepares for the European football championship next month, we
recognise the importance of this event to our European family. Ukraine
overcame immense obstacles to ensure that we are fully prepared for the
championship. The infrastructure development alone is a testament to
fulfilling our commitment to co-host this prestigious event. UEFA has widely acknowledged
our success at preparing for the tournament and we will continue to provide
the best atmosphere for the fans, the players, and the international
community. Ukraine is honoured to invite members of the European community
and fans from around the world to participate with us in this memorable
occasion. This is but another example of the way that positive reforms have greatly
improved our country and the lives of our citizens.
Ukraine is on the right path. While we may have differences on the way to
reach this goal, we need the support of our European friends and not
isolation. The reforms that are highlighted above affect our whole country.
Our focus is on this transformative path, which is the future of Ukraine as
a European nation. We are committed to the process of democracy, and we want
the EU to show an equal commitment. Other countries are waiting to exploit
divisions between us for their own purposes. We need open and honest
dialogue, but we must also stand together. By doing so, we can create a more
democratic, state and a partnership that has economic, social and
geopolitical benefits for both Europe and Ukraine.
