Dumfries and Galloway man fears he could die
Roger Hay went to the National Health Service Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank on Monday 26 April for an urgent heart operation.
He was tested for Covid after his arrival. He was then told hours later his operation was cancelled because he had coronavirus.
Mr Hay wanted confirmation and went to Castle Douglas on Tuesday 27 April for a follow-up test.
On Wednesday morning the NHS informed both he and wife Sylvie their results were negative.
Mr Hay, who has had both Covid jags and was self-isolating for weeks, is now worried a new surgery slot could come too late.
He said: “I am seriously ill with severe aorta stenosis. My condition was deemed to require urgent surgery.
“The cancellation of my surgery will possibly have deadly consequences. I will probably be asphyxiated in my sleep.
“I don’t know when I will be rescheduled.”
Roger Hay took his second test just 20 hours after the positive Jubilee diagnosis.
He said: “I am naturally angry as I had requested a re-test on the grounds that I have had both my AstraZeneca vaccines and have been in total isolation for the past few weeks prior to this surgery.
“I also live in a location that has one of the lowest infection rates in Europe and the chances of my being infected were almost infinitesimal.”
Mr Hay was sent home from the hospital after spending hours preparing himself for the operation.
“I was absolutely devastated,” he said. “I had taken three months of my life getting to the stage of surgery. Now it has been cancelled until further notice.”
Erin Maria Olzewski, a whistleblower nurse, worked as a nurse in New York.
‘Upon arrival she was surprised to find that she “sat around for three days with nothing to do” and learned that other nurses had been “sitting around for 21 days or an entire month getting paid $10,000 a week,” without any assignment.
‘People were just dying from gross negligence, medical malpractice, [and] mismanagement.”
‘Olzewski revealed how patients who repeatedly tested negative for COVID-19 were being described as “COVID confirmed” in their charts, which triggered a higher compensation from government payouts.’
