Check out this all-Ikea, real-life Portal 2 hack

One of our favorite games of 2011 here at Tecca is  Portal 2. For the uninitiated, Portal is a beloved puzzle video game series that requires you to navigate a series of seemingly impossible-to-traverse rooms, armed only with a special gun that creates blue and yellow colored holes. Jump in the blue hole, and you come out the yellow one. Jump in the yellow hole, and you come out the blue one.

Of course, if you put the holes immediately in front of each other, you can create an infinite loop. And that’s exactly the type of scenario that an intrepid German Portal fan has created using a few simple-to-source materials from Swedish furniture retailer Ikea. A couple of mirrors, and a pair of LED rope lights later, and any home can become an Aperture Science experiment zone.

Watch the above video for details on how to do it in your home. And when you’re done watching, check out these 5 other Portal 2 craft projects people have been doing in their own homes to honor the epic game series.
